Perfect for My Son in College – Practical and Versatile!
I bought the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for my son, and he absolutely loves it as a college student! The convertible design is a game-changer—he can switch between laptop and tablet modes effortlessly, which makes it great for taking notes in class or streaming lectures in bed.The 14" IPS touch display is crisp and vibrant, perfect for both study sessions and downtime Netflix marathons. The Intel Core i3 processor and 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM handle all his needs, from writing essays to running multiple tabs for research, without any lag. It’s lightweight and portable, so it fits easily in his backpack and doesn’t weigh him down on campus. Battery life is impressive too—it lasts through most of his classes and a library session before needing a charge. If I had to nitpick, storage could be a bit more generous, but with cloud solutions, it’s manageable. For the price, this laptop is a fantastic value and a great tool for any student.

NEEDED AN UPGRADE AND I LOVE IT!!
I got this one because the Dell Touchscreen that I've had for 5 years, the power plug became loose where you plug it into the laptop. It would not stay in the hole. Would come out. Anyhow, I also wanted a "power" button on top of my laptop where all the other keys are, instead of on the side (like my Dell has it). Upon days of research, I came across the Acer Aspire 5 and compared it to other laptops and decided to get it. It is the best decision I made for myself! The cost was great. Half the price of my Dell. And it's fast! My Dell was slow. Always buffered during movies and tv shows. I do not know the "computer lingo" or jargin to describe the specs on it, but as a lay person who has used computers since the '90's, it loads quickly. And the graphics are clear when you watch a video or a movie. I do a lot of streaming online and have no problems with it. The sound is okay. But I use headphones anyways and it is good. The battery life is fantastic! I can use this for 6 hours on the battery without stressing to plug it in. And someone asked if the keys are backlit, yes, when you tap a key all of them light up while you are typing. The light goes off a second after you finish typing. Which I like because it gets too warm when they stay on. So far so good. I've only had this Acer for a month and hope it lasts a few years!

Missing a huge feature
I just got this a couple of days ago, so this review is a little premature. I had decided about a week ago, my computing needs had changed. There are some things my chromebook wouldn't do so decided to go back to a PC. Prime Day rolled around and I began searching laptops. Spent the majority of Tuesday looking, finally deciding on this model. So far typing is fine. The delete key is right next to the power button, but just punching the power button accidentally did not turn the screen off.Flipping the keyboard back into tablet mode was easy, but took effort. The screen definately stays at whatever position you place it. When in tablet mode and tapping this box to continue my review, did not bring up the onscreen keyboard. There is a small bar across the bottom middle you have to slide up just a little to activate the bottom toolbar. There you can open the onscreen keyboard.Touchpad is responsive and works great. Screen is bright and touch is just as expected. Battery is fine so far, but this is the most I've been able to use it so far. Camera: haven't used it and it will probably not be used very often. Now for my biggest con: the keyboard is not backlit. There no mention of it anywhere in the description or any reviews that I saw. I tend to use my tablet early in the morning and usually don't turn a light on. Other than that, everything so far is up to snuff.

Amazing Convertible Device
I needed a tablet with a large screen. I did not want a dedicated tablet as they require a keyboard and stand for any real work. Instead of spending $1400 on a large fruit tablet I found this for $400. It comes with all the basics, a vibrant screen with 14” of area. 8GB of RAM 128GB NVME SSD and an Intel 8 core processor with UHD graphics. What I love about the Aspire Spin 3 is the build quality. The keyboard has good feedback. The trackpad is usable! The built in speakers are okay in a pinch but there is Bluetooth to hook up a wireless speaker for presentations or a headset. I ended up uninstalling some bloateare but it was minimal. There are two full sized USB-A high speed ports for memory sticks, hard drives or whatever you want to use. There is also a Dual mode USB-C port that can output video, charge the battery, or transfer data. The HDMI port is 2.1. The WiFi is the AX101 from Intel and it does a fantastic job with my WiFi 6 router. I thought the RAM capacity would be limiting but with the ultra fast NVME SSD I have not run into any issues. It plays 4K YouTube videos flawlessly. As first there was some backlight bleed but after handling the device for a few test scenarios it has gone away. It does not get super bright so outside direct sun should be avoided unless you invest in an anti glare screen coating. Windows 11 came in S mode and it was easy to disable in the Microsoft Store. Now I can install apps from the internet like Firefox , Chrome and whatever I need like my hardware monitoring tools. This is a steal and fantastic value for the money. Next step is to install Steam and Skyrim Anniversary Edition.
