Got this for the wife that went to Cal and she loves this Mug!This is a really nice mug with the Cal etched into it! And it's a really large sizemug so it will hold a lot of what ever beverage you fancy!

This review is for the RICO INDUSTRIES 16oz matte black bistro mug (Team Name: Cal Berkeley Golden Bears). I received a free taxable sample of this mug to review in my search for a solid coffee mug I could use at home or at tailgates.The mug arrived securely cocooned in tissue paper and a honeycombed cardboard wrap which you can unwrap if keeping the mug for yourself or which you can place directly into a gift bag or box if you plan on gifting the mug.The mug has a 1 1/8" diameter circular base which expands to a 3 3/4" outer diameter at the top of the mug. The height of the mug is 4 1/4" with 1/8" thick lips and the weight of the mug is a solid 400 grams. There is a curved handle set into the mug that measures 3" at the attachment points and extends the max width by about 1 5/8". The construction of the mug is your standard ceramic material to which an exterior matte black glaze and an interior glossy black glaze has been applied. There are no indications on the mug as to whether or not this mug is dishwasher or microwave safe; however, the product details do state that the mug can be safely microwaved and cleaned in the dishwasher.The focal point of this mug is the laser engraved collegiate logo (a script "Cal" in this case) that has crisp cut edges and which reveals the underlying ceramic material. I really like the textured feel of the unsealed ceramic material which provides a good contrast to the precisely thin cut edges. I also like that this is an officially licensed product as per the QR code hologram sticker for the Collegiate Licensing Company on the bottom of the mug. The overall craftmanship is quite good and there are no discernable visual or material flaws.In terms of use, I've enjoyed using this mug in the mornings for freshly brewed coffee, as the thicker rounded lips of the mug add to the feel of more hearty drinks. All in all, the RICO INDUSTRIES matte black bistro mug is solidly constructed, and I would recommend this as a great option for you or your friend to show collegiate pride at the next tailgate or at home.
