To many errors
This book has got a lot of very nice pictures and the posters and ticket stubs etc are a very nice touch. The book is laid out in easy to read sections and give a brief outline of each album. However the one big flaw in this otherwise nice book is the amount of pictures of the band with the wrong members listed, eg Clive Burr for Nico Mcbrain, Dennis Stratten for Adrian Smith etc Chris Welch is a respected rock journo, i would expect more from him. This spoils the book.Iit is quite a nice package, but for the fans its a bit light on substance.

Unauthorised, unofficial and INACCURATE
Chris Welch may be an award winning journalist, but this is a sorry excuse of a book, and a blatant cash in on Maiden's popularity. Sure, the hard back book and sleeve is very handsome, but one only has to start to scan the first few pages to realise that the book is riddled with inaccuracies. In the first chapter on Maiden's early days is a picture of "Dennis Wilcock" which is clearly a picture of Bruce Dickinson taken during the Beast on the Road tour! On the facing page is a picture of the band with Adrian where the book claims he is Dennis Stratton. And so it goes on ... the book is riddled with errors, inaccuracies and inconsistencies. What about this one ... Heaven Can Wait has lyrics by Steve Harris and "Stephen Percy". So Steve wrote the song with himself!??! (Full name: Stephen Percy Harris).Honestly, as a fan of some 30 years I am appalled by this book. I could've done a far better job myself. Mr Welch and everyone involved in this book should be ashamed of themselves for this disastrously copy edited mess. Waste of money.

Very nice package, although the book sections are nice
Got this as a christmas gift. Very nice package, although the book sections are nice, they are typical annual/history of style book, with info easily found online, however its the extra bits that are great. The book is dotted with envelopes with reproduction posters, tickets, guides etc and its really cool to see a ticket stub from the 80s or a brochure from when they played with Judas Priest once in the 90s.
