Himalayan ChandraPorcelain Neti Pot

I bought this neti pot after seeing the procedure all over the internet. I've had poor sinuses for the best part of my adult life. At 25, it was getting to the point where I was using a saline nasal spray up to 5+ times a day including needing to do this twice throughout the night. It was starting to exhaust me. I couldn't even get a full night's sleep. My nose would block completely and seem endlessly dry. I've seen quite a large difference in my sinuses since using this. It gives me around 12 hours of relief and I only have to use my nasal spray once or twice given my surroundings or room temperatures which cause my nose to block. My nose isn't as dry either. As if it has reset my sinuses.Firstly, this is a tool to use during the nasal irrigation procedure. The pot itself will not make you do the procedure correctly or magically help your sinuses, a lot can go wrong between opening the package and doing the irrigation. The pot itself is beautifully crafted. Smooth. Holds just under 250 ml of liquid and can only be held with one finger through the handle. The pot was perfect.I bought the matching Himalayan salt to go along with this. If your a beginner like me, do yourself a favour and buy the salt to go with this pot which is suggested. Making your own solution is another factor that can go wrong for you if you aren't sure. It saves time and gives you a chance to perfect your method before trying to make your own solution.There are extensive instructions provided with this pot and I advise that you read them. Videos of this procedure look insanely easy but it takes a bit of time to get it right. You are flushing our nose and sinuses with water after all. I use previously boiled water from the kettle for this. I don't use tap water or buy bottled water for this. I take 250mls of cooled boiled water and set it aside. I warm up the remaining boiled water just to add some warmth to the mixture. Pour the cooled boiled water into the neti pot about two thirds full and add in your warm water on top of this. DO NOT pour boiling water on top. This will hurt you when you use it. Dip your finger into the water to test the temperature it should be lukewarm.From your salt, add in the small side of the scoops, amount of salt. One small scoop. I did not heap mine because my sinuses are sensitive enough. If anything I under scoop a little. Pop this into the water and stir with a spoon and wait for it to dissolve completely. Dip your finger into the water and taste it, it will taste like tears.Doing the irrigation:This is where the whole thing can go wrong. It's a manual thing and you need to take your time. I was terrified to try this for the first time. I waited until my sinuses weren't completely blocked because it was advised against using it when fully blocked. Prepare a tissue/towel by your side.Lean over your sink and face it head-on. Stare at that plug and give yourself a pat on the back for giving it a try. Tilt your head to the side keeping your chin to your chest more than your forehead facing up. One nostril should be above the other. This directs the water for you.Pop the end of the neti pot into your nose. Don't start to pour yet. Find a focal point to stare at or close your eyes. Open your mouth and begin to breathe through your mouth. Raise your elbow to allow the water to start to pour. You'll feel an uncomfortable bubble of water gushing into your nose as if you've just jumped into a swimming pool. This will ease off once the irrigation gets going. There may be a small pause before the water comes out the other nostril. It should run out in a smooth flow. It can drip or dribble out. This means your position isn't quite right. Keep the pot away from your cheek. Tilt your head down a little. Move your head a little to adjust until the water pours out.Keep breathing through your mouth.Take a break if you need to. Blow out the water and take a moment. Then start again.Once the pot is empty, blow your nose gently to expel remaining water with your towel or tissue.Repeat the process on the other side/nostril.Afterwards:You will feel a bit strange after doing this procedure. You can feel a bit of odd pressure in your face and forehead but it's not uncomfortable or painful. You just know somethings been up there and it's adjusting. Especially if this is your first go. The odd bit of water may run out of your nose afterwards so keep a tissue nearby. My eyes watered a little during the procedure but they didn't hurt etcI felt my sinuses draining as normal down the back of my throat after use. This hasn't been happening for a long time and was strangely nice to feel. I still use my nasal spray but I only use it once per day after using the neti pot. From 5 times to once it's pretty damn good. I get around 12 hours of relief after usage.I've sneezed a few times after use which helps clear the passages.Advice:During my first time, I had some water trickle down the back of my throat and trickle into my ear. This was uncomfortable and with a weakness in my ear, I was afraid it was going to turn nasty. It actually passed within a few hours once the water had found its way out but still remained uncomfortable as if I had a cold before that time. This was purely down to myself and how I'd done the procedure. My angle was off, my forehead was up rather than chin down. This wasn't the fault of the product. If you're brand new to this, try this procedure before bedtime or on a day where you haven't got to go to work, just in case, like me, you get it a little wrong and feel a bit unwell afterwards. It will all pass! It's a cleaning method after all. It shouldn't infect you or make your worse! Don't give up on it and try again. During my second attempt, I had no water in my ear or down my throat at all. I was aware of the problems.I have tried this twice over three days, purely because I wasn't home during one of those days to try it, and I've seen a difference in my nose and being able to breathe normally. I'd recommend to anyone struggling to breathe and having sinus pain.PROS:Compact tool.Long lasting material.Unchipped and adapts to the temperature of the water inside it.Hold the right amount of water.Easy to clean and dishwasher safe.Excellent instructions/advice.CONSThere are no cons of this product itself** However, there are cons of the irrigation.Water can go down your throat/ear.The water temperature can be incorrect.You can put in too much salt and burn your sinuses.You can use the wrong water.**Thoroughly research it before trying it just to be safe.Good luck with your neti pot. I hope you can breathe as easily as I now can. 100% would recomend it.

On oxygen all day can create sore nasal passages and also get clogged. 84year old finds this easy to use and does the job. She loves it so highly recommend.

This was a great pot. It was dishwasher safe and easy to use. Unfortunately it did not survive an accidental premature death as it crashed to the floor one uneventful day. I have since opted for the plastic version to prevent breakage. If you are clumsy you might want to opt for the plastic one and if you aren't clumsy but have a little foresight that accidents happen then perhaps plastic might be advisable for you too. If I hadn't broken mine, it was a quality ceramic pot and I would recommend it completely!

My only issue with this is the fact that it isn't very big and water can spill out of the top when tilting the pot. I use filtered water with lemon juice. It does burn, but it pulls out huge amounts of mucus and dissolves it a little too making it easier come out. Its very comfortable unlike some other plastic and poorly made neti pots. Since this is made from good materials it'll last a very long time without the worry of plastics being leached because of the water.Pricewise it is a little pricy for such a small thing, but at the end of the day your investing in your health and wellbeing. A must for anyone seeking relief from headaches, snoring and cold or flu like symptoms.

Great little pot that does the job it's supposed to do. I was a bit worried about the nozzle being too big for my nose when I read other reviews, and although it doesn't go right in, held up against the nostril, it works as intended, with no spillage.A bit on the pricey side, but much better than a plastic one!

Used to replace plastic neti pot. This is far superior and easier to make sterile after use. It does not fit into the nostril if that is what you are looking for from your pot this may not be the one for you.Fast delivery, packed well, happy with purchase

This is amazing!! I like that it is porcelain so can be washed in the dishwasher. Easy to use, very effective. Can’t believe how brilliant this is.

Omg I love this! I’ve had it for 4 years now and I could not live without it. Whenever I get a cold I do 15m of steam breathing with lavender essential oil and then do the Neti pot. It works immediately and I can finally breathe. After 3 days of those 2 steps... I’m always cured. Even my boyfriend asks for the Neti pot when he gets sick. It’s miraculous. It works so well that I only need to use it once a year.
