Hilarious
The Hunger Pains by The Harvard Lampoon is a hilarious and thrilling parity of hunger games. This is a book of excitement and laughter that will keep you satisfied throughout the whole book. I would recommend this book to anyone and I would have a good feeling that they would love it. One important event from this book is how there became 12 districts by the capitol. Another important event in this book was the cause of Katkiss’s dad’s death. A third important event is how the tributes are drawn to be in the hunger games. A fourth important thing in this book is how the hunger games began and where the name “Hunger Games” came from. The fifth and final important event in this book is the cornucopia that holds all the weapons. Some highlights of this book are when Katkiss was in the hunger games and she didn’t want to take a assault rifle because she didn’t want to look needy. Another highlight was when she got picked for the hunger games in place of her sister and her sister could care less what happens to Katkiss but Katkiss thinks the world of her. To be honest, there are no bad parts of the book other then it was to short. In conclusion I think this is a really good and captivating book and like I said, I would recommend it for anyone and expect anyone to like it. Personally, I don’t like reading at all but this book kept me reading and reading and reading. Overall, in my opinion this is one of the better books I’ve read.

Hilarious, and a great read!
I loved the Hunger Pains!! The Hunger Games was one of my favorite books, and I was worried this would ruin it. Not at all! It was hilarious, and I really couldn't stop reading. It sticks to the Hunger Games plot so the story actually moves forward, unlike other parodies I've read. The jokes are smart and super funny. I was actually loling on the bus. I'd recommend the book if you like the series and you like to laugh. Definitely planning to get this as a gift for friends.

Good but a trifle disappointing
Many years ago, I was turned on to Bored of the Rings by Nat Lamp. I think it is one of the funniest parodies I have read. I liked the Hunger Games books and movies, so I wanted to read this. I was a bit disappointed with this, thinking BoR was much better. I will re-read this to see if I pick up more. Or maybe I am not of the generation to appreciate it more.

No blockbuster, but entertaining none the less
Many people complained that "KantKiss" was dumb as a plank. Well of course she was... It's a 'lampoon' the characters are supposed to be absurd. The book is everything you would expect from a Harvard Lampoon. The framework of the story is reasonably faithful to the original book, but all of the characters are changed to make the tale humorous.I'm not a huge fan of literary slapstick, but I found the book quite readable and somewhat amusing,

Nother Book for Husband Collection
I needed to get a gift for my husband. I thought he would like to remember his book from childhood. It didn't go as planned. It wasn't good as he thought should be. When your a teenager reading these sets of book they are fine. Being mature adult reading these. It little different

Great book!
I thought this book was very funny and interesting. I like the way the author didn't put a joke in every second, so it would make sense! I also liked the twist on the names of the characters.

It was a waste of money.
If i could rate The Hunger Pains only half a star, i would. I think it was a huge waste of money. I read many reviews saying how hilarious this book is, so i bought it, but to me it was just immature. One minute it is talking about farting, and the next it is a bit inapropriate. i would not recommend this book for kids under 13. When i read the sample of The Hunger Pains, it was a litte funny, and i got a laugh out of a couple things. But when I bought the book, it was like the writers didn't put any thought into it once they got past the first two chapters. It was like they took each sentence out of the book and replaced a few words with 'fart' or 'poop'. In the book, Kantkiss (Katniss)is so dumb and stupid, its not even funny, like trying to run strait through a fence, thinking a baby was laughing when it was actually suffocating with it's face in a pillow, and not knowing what to do with a shovel she was sent when she was trying to dig a hole with her hands. Also, the games in The Hunger Pains arent even realistic, because Kantkiss gets everything she asks for from her sponsors. The Hunger Pains is so short, i finished it in about a day and a half. The games themselves only last about 50 or 60 pages. So, like i said before, The Hunger Pains is immature, not funny, and not worth $10.

It's only a short book, but he absolutely roared with laughter reading it and has re-read it a few times now!Am very glad I bought it and would recommend it to HG fans!

Great Parody.
This book is a great parody to the Hunger games. It is exactly what i was looking for. It has lot of humour stuffs but some of them are adult jokes. The author has characterised the storyline in the most humorous way possible. It was all laughs upto the end.And the Amazon service was excellent. keep up the good work.

purchased for 11 yr, old granddaughter
My 11 yr old granddaughter requested this trilogy for her birthday. She has finished the first book and loved it and has now seen the movie and started on the 2nd book. She didn't think the movie was as good as the book. When she saw the parody on my Kindle she downloaded the sample and asked me to purchase it for her as she enjoyed it immensely.

Where every page was so funny, you're sides hurt by the time you got ...
Remember when the Harvard Lampoon published "Bored of the rings"? Where every page was so funny, you're sides hurt by the time you got to the end of the chapter? This is definitely NOT that book. Inane, puerile and so un-funny, that I have to wonder if it's some other "Harvard" they're talking about.Seriously, even if it becomes free for the taking, don't waste your time or memory space on your Kindle with this crap.
