Excellent in every way
Lots of info maps advice etc in a right sized book. Take no notice of the naysayers, you dont need bus timetables and details of every hotel now, times have moved on. As has this book! It’s worth every penny. Some of the other individually written books dont hold a candle to this.

Don't throw away your older edition of Lonely Planet
I knew that Helen Ranger was involved in the production of the 2023 edition of Lonely Planet's (LP) Morocco guidebook and was expecting great things. However I have mixed feelings. On the positive side it is printed in full colour throughout and is a lot more 'welcoming' for readers who want to dip into sections. It's organised around 'hubs' that you are likely to visit, with nearby destinations included within that section, however very little real information on suggested activities. On the negative side, Rough Guide to Morocco has always had better coverage of remote areas than LP. The upcoming 2024 Rough Guide has 584 pages, whilst this latest 2023 LP is now just 414 pages. Some destinations have been dropped totally—Taza has gone from four pages to zero. And there's now practically zero information on hotels, I wonder if LP thinks everyone is now using online booking sites?I normally recommend LP for its extensive information on public transport bus and taxi routes and schedules, however the latest edition drops this totally. This sort of information is mostly not available via the Internet and I just don't know how people will now get this information.

Dissapointing
I don't know what's happened to Lonely Planet. The main reason for buying these guidebooks was to find your way around a country by public transport, with a few throwaway hotel and restaurant recommendations thrown in. They would always give information about all regions - with particular attention to transport hubs. This book isn't like that at all. There's virtually no practical transport information - beyond 'rent a hire car', and the only destinations given any sort of coverage are those that are served by package tours or close to budget airlines. Hotel and restaurant recommendations are specifically up market - and in our experience, not that good.If you're going on a package tour to Agadir or Essaouira then this book will give you things to do beyond the all inclusive hotel, but for travelling around the country it's just a waste of space in your luggage.

0.1 stars... Poorly written book in a hurry
Much unlike all the other lonely planet books, this is a book on how a travel book should not be written.I have used lonely planet for other countries like Italy, Sri Lanka, etc... But the Morocco one is a poor cousin in terms of perspective and content.
