A Huge Upgrade in Reliability and Peace of Mind
I had been using a Viofo dash cam before this, and the reason I decided to replace it was honestly frustrating. Last year I was involved in an accident, and when I went to check the footage, there was nothing saved at all. I was shocked. After looking into it, the cause turned out to be a card error. I changed the memory card after that, but the problem still came back from time to time, and it became a constant source of stress. A dash cam is supposed to give you peace of mind, so dealing with repeated recording concerns completely defeated the purpose. One of the main reasons I chose Thinkware was the brand reputation. It has a very strong premium image, and being known as the number one brand in Korea definitely influenced my decision. I hesitated at first because it is not an easy product to justify casually, but after reading reviews and spending time looking through Reddit discussions and user experiences, I came to the conclusion that this was one of the best options when it comes to durability and long term dependability. My conclusion is simple. I am extremely satisfied with it. The app works well, which already makes the daily experience much better. The video quality is also excellent, with clear footage that looks sharp and dependable without noticeable degradation. More than anything, the parking mode has been outstanding. That is probably the feature that gives me the most confidence. It feels like this is finally the kind of dash cam setup I can truly trust, both while driving and while the car is parked. I also installed it myself instead of going through a professional installer. Since I added the rear camera as well, the full installation took about two hours. Even so, it was not especially difficult. I was relieved that the power connection process felt much simpler and more user friendly than I expected, so I was able to install it without too much anxiety. For me, this has been a major upgrade in the areas that matter most. Reliability, image quality, app performance, and parking protection all feel strong here. After my experience with missing footage on my previous dash cam, that sense of security matters a lot, and this product has absolutely delivered it.

Solid dash cam, does what we need
We already had the previous (non-Pro) version of this Thinkware camera in our other car and it has worked really well for us, so we decided to stay with the same brand. We just bought this Pro version for our son’s car and the setup was easy. Video quality looks clear, including at night, and the app makes it simple to check recordings. So far, it’s been very reliable and does exactly what we need.

Not so great
Has some good features however really bad quality control. I have these in my service trucks. Had issues with park mode and lte service. Out of the 5 I have most have been returned at least once or had some issues with obdII cables etc gave up and hard wired them. The phone in support is pretty good however email support is laughable. You can get these dealer installed on ford service vehicles but even they say quality is hit or miss and the units may or may not work.

Dashcam works great, app is sometimes still a struggle
Great camera and an upgrade to my previous (U1000) version. I was happy that it used the same power input socket because I hardwired the previous dashcam but rather disappointed to find that the video cable for the rear camera was not the same so I had to remove the old cable and run a new one which meant dropping the headliner (again). The camera works great but still gives an occasional hiccup when trying to connect the app to the dashcam. It typically connects no problem but just closes over half the time when I try to open saved recordings.

Finally, my dash cam isn’t training to be a baked potato
I slapped this THINKWARE heat-blocking film on my U3000 because I was tired of my dash cam acting like it was auditioning for Survivor: Windshield Edition. Install was straightforward, and the difference was immediate — no more “surface of the sun” temperature alerts, no more camera melting into a puddle of sadness. Picture quality? Still crisp. Functionality? Perfect. Regrets? Zero. If you’ve got a U3000 and live anywhere warmer than a Canadian fall, just get it. Your dash cam will thank you, and your future self will appreciate not having to peel a molten gadget off your windshield.

It gets the job done, needs major improvements, generally still better than competition
Very expensive, too difficult to use, finicky, annoying, software isn't well thought out, connectivity isn't well thought out. video quality? Whatever it is, it's far from 4K. After a year of messing with settings I still can barely read a license plate when someone is right in front of me. Getting footage from the app is almost entirely useless. Count on always ejecting the SD card and putting it in an adapter and plugging it into a laptop. That being said, the majority of dash cams are just as crappy. The saving Grace for this one, is that it unlike the other expensive counterparts I tried such as the nexar one, the thinkware hasn't overheated in the two hot Vegas Summers I have had it, and the parking detection with radar is better than any other dash cam I have had. It also accepts and actually requires an external SD card which allows you to extract media your own way vs others with a non upgradeable internal storage (nexar one again)

It's Thinkware, of course it's great!
I replaced an older version Thinkware dash cam with the U3000. The old F770 was great but the clarity of the U3000 is amazing. Day and night even license plates are legible. Great parking mode too! The radar sensors really seem to use alot less battery power in parking mode. Installation of both front and rear cameras was quick and easy on my newer GMC pickup. It was a bit pricey, but I think it's a good value for the price.

Good quality product
Good quality product. I used it to replace the black patch that Glass Repair shop had put on when they replaced my car windshield.

Easy to install and does as advertised. My dashcam has never fallen off or shown any signs of movement.

4.5 stars - Video quality is strong and the radar-based parking mode is smart. App could be better
After trying a few dash cams, I picked the THINKWARE U3000 PRO for its STARVIS 2 setup and radar parking. It’s been used daily on a 45-minute commute, with a lot of night driving and regular street parking. The video quality is the main win. Video (day/night): Day footage is sharp – road signs are clear from about 3–4 car lengths away. Night footage is good, but don’t expect miracles: plates are readable when stopped; moving plates are usually readable only within ~1–2 car lengths under streetlights. Glare handling is better than average, but not outstanding. For the price, low-light plate capture is “OK” – not amazing. Parking mode: This is one of the best parts. The built-in dual RADAR sensors make parked protection feel more “smart” and less wasteful than always-on motion recording. The included OBD-II cable is convenient because it avoids fuse tapping and still enables parking mode. Just know it can block your OBD port if you use it for other devices. App and daily use: I prefer “set it and forget it” dash cams, but this one leans heavily on the app because there’s no screen. Pairing/setup can take a couple of tries, and the app can be frustrating (connection drops, occasional hangs). That said, I still trust a known brand’s app more than random dash cams with sketchy apps and privacy questions. LTE / subscriptions (optional): You don’t need LTE for the basics. Normal recording, GPS stamping, and standard parking modes work without a subscription. LTE/cloud features (remote live view, tracking, geofencing, remote alerts) need the optional LTE module and a plan in the THINKWARE CONNECTED app. Also: you can’t use the LTE module and the IR cabin camera at the same time. Storage: It comes with a 64GB card, which is fine to start but fills fast. With 4K front + 2K rear it’s about 2 hours (~125 minutes) before it loops. I stuck with the included Thinkware card even though bigger would be better. I considered other high-endurance cards, but if anything goes wrong, support may blame the card – so for best reliability and warranty alignment, Thinkware cards are the safe choice. If you use wireless Android Auto, it can fight with the dash cam connection since both use Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. When you need to pull clips, switching to wired Android Auto (USB) or temporarily disconnecting AA makes the app connection much less painful. ✔ Pros Strong 4K front video and good night performance overall Excellent parking features with built-in dual RADAR OBD-II power included (easy way to enable parking mode) GPS tagging + speed/red-light alerts (when database is up to date) LTE/Connected features available if you want remote monitoring ✘ Cons App-heavy (no screen) and pairing/connect can be finicky Night plate capture isn’t “perfect for the money” 64GB loops quickly at 4K/2K – plan for more storage LTE features add extra hardware + subscription cost OBD-II power can block the port for other uses This review takes a look at the "Thinkware U3000 PRO Front and Rear Dual 4K Dash Cam" made by THINKWARE.

Almost perfect!
The camera looked great, i dont know how to install it myself so I got a professional from Vision Center to install it altogether and so far all seems good. Instructions of how to get it connected to your phone is a breeze. The quality of the video is wonderful. The lens filter included is also fantastic. Didnt get to use the obd2 connector as mine was hardwired throught the ivolt mini. Sadly im only giving it four stars as i wanted to have the interior camera as well but its either having that or the LTE, i chose to have the LTE so i dont have the interior camera, hopefully they can fix that in the future where both LTE and interior camera, side cameras can all work togerher.
