Waste of money
The fan does not blow hard on high at all. The sides are vented with no water saturation so warm air gets mixed with the cool air and blows warm. I bought a smaller unit that blows harder and cooler than this one.

Works properly if you use it properly!
The media could not be loaded. Make sure you fill it up top with water. We used a cup just make sure the front shows above the min fill line before pressing cool. The reason for this is because it brings the water from the bottom to the top via a pump so it continues to saturate the pads with the cold water so it’s extra nice if you use ice packs the water is ice cold = ice cold air close the door for a cool room. If your too lazy to freeze the ice packs don’t complain about it not working I live in the western USA desert so no excuses!! Easy drain plug in the back to empty so we can start over with fresh water. Also like with any swamp cooler crack the window. At least a 1/2inch works like a charm. By the way you can use 2 or all 4 depends on how hot it is in your place.

Does Not Pump Out A Strong Mist Of Water
This seemed to be a really nice fan unit with the exception that the pump doesn't pump enough water fast enough to put a a good amount of mist for cooling. The fan blower is also disappointing. It doesn't have enough fan power to blow a breeze unless you are within 2' of the fan. I don't suggest buying this fan at all.

Exceeded expectations
Northern Montana. Low humidity is a must...I'm outside the graphic's recommended region, but our humidity was in the sweet spot, so I went for it. I'm glad I did.I purchased this to help cool down the house during the recent heat wave. I know there are other ways to use this, however I was loading the top with ice. Generally, the house would reach about 80F inside. With this running all day, the house stayed below 70F all day. It's definitely not as good as an AC, but considering the price point, low energy consumption, indoor/outdoor use, and indoor flexibility for placement... this has been a fantastic buy. It is all plastic and longevity is still in question, but so far so good. Seriously considering the larger unit in addition to cool the top floor.Rating is really 4.5, but I gave you a 4. Stay grounded guys!

Very Small, Not as pictured, Not much Air Blown
The unit is much smaller in ratio than shown in the pictures. In addition, it only blows a little air compared to other models its size (we have three other models and wanted a bigger one). I would return it but I threw away the box already.

Water Pump Died After 2 Months
Very disappointed! I barely had this for 2 months when the water pump decided it no longer wanted to pump water. I've taken great care of this unit, keeping it clean & maintained, so I have no idea why it died so soon. I bought the warranty but apparently it was somehow lost (on its way to my email?) so I can't get it fixed. What a waste of money! I'm not saying your unit will end up like mine but I wouldn't even chance it on this one, there are plenty of other options.

Awesome
We got this to keep cool and for the lower wattage. It runs at 40 wats with everything maxed out! Our window ac was about 800 and our rooftop even more!. A regular fan was running 90 watts. We put some water and ice in it and it is stronger fan than the window ac and blowing nice cold air! We can run this with our solar power all day and all night without running too much power! If you're baking this summer and you need something that's not a power hog, I highly recommend it!

Broke after only over a month of use
Cooler is no longer using water to cool any longer. It's just an expensive fan now. About a few weeks ago (right after return window ended mind you) it stopped retaining water in the top part that feeds water to the pads.I attempted to troubleshoot every option available, then reached out to customer support for help and was only told "the return window has closed". I don't want to return it I want it to work. Hoping the company can help more with this, will update if so. Worked great before it died.
