End-All Metal Nail File
Solid nail file. I'd had a different nail file for years, but it's been lost to time. Had a few nail issues come up and thought a new nail file would fix it, so I'd purchased this one on recommendation. It's pretty aggressive, but it handles hard and thick toe nails with ease. I've got one of their glass files on the way for finish work, and oddly I can't wait. Excited for a nail file is an odd feeling.

This is not an emery board
I was looking for a triple cross-cut nail file and got EXACTLY what I wanted. It's shorter than my old one, which I knew from the description, but does the same thing. It is great for shaping one's nails. If you want an emery board, don't buy this one. When I shape my nails, first I use clippers. Then I file the rough edges so they're smooth. But there are often little rough patches under the nails. I put the file under the nail and lightly file underneath. Then I gently repeat the edge to make sure it's still smooth. Next I put the file on top of the nail and gently pull it down over the edge. Last I go around the edges again very lightly. I make sure everything is smooth by running my nails down a soft fabric.ALERT: with this file, you must be gentle, because it is a true file and can eat pretty deeply.I'm glad I bought it; it's good quality, sturdy, and strong.

Works nicely
It is extremely hard to find crosscut nail files for some reason. They last forever once you do. This very well-made file will definitely stand the test of time I am pretty sure. The metal of the file itself is nicely finished and the file is sharper on one side, less so for finishing on the other side. The pointed end cleans under nails and the nice leather case protects the cuts from dulling when hitting other things in the drawer or your purse, wherever you store it. Yes a bit expensive, but unless you actually lose it, you will be using this file for years. Definitely high quality. Recommend!

It’s good but…
It’s a good file and I can tell it’s going to last a long time, but I don’t know if it’s because I’m not used to it, or there’s a problem with it because I feel like the pattern makes it get “stuck” on my nails when I’m filing them. Not sure if it’s a defect or if it’s supposed to work like that. It does work in the end, but I can’t make it go at the speed I’m used to with the other files.

Somewhat high quality, but expensive
I was surprised at how expensive this was. Despite the expense, I wanted a "real" nail file, with lines and ridges like those "of old", not the "modern" version where the "file" seems to be some random assortment of rough surfaces. (The last one I bought was a few years ago, in one of the stores where everything is 1 dollar, but it seems they no longer offer "real"nail files, with only the "rough surface" ones usually marketed under some brand of cosmetics. I had misplaced that one while moving to a new home). This one works, it does the job, though, frankly, it seems the last one was actually cut with more precision, AND it was curved along the length of the file. Luckily, I found that one and it's still my favorite, with this one kept in reserve.Bottom line: this seems to be one of the last "real" files available. If you need it, get, as they seem to be going the way of the dodo.
