I gave this as birthday present. My friend was wanting a new journal and this was suggested as I was looking on Amazon. The Phoenix is a symbol of rebirth and renewal and it seemed appropriate for a journal. I was somewhat surprised that the cover is a type of plastic or resin. The jewels definitely look like plastic. It's still good quality and I would buy again, but I figure some people might be interested to know that. I thought the cover might be a thin metal. Overall, my friend was thrilled with the journal and that is what is most important.

Item was as described. It was a little thinner than I expected, but otherwise awesome. We had some online confusion and this (plus another item) missed the event purchased for - so I returned. The vendor was totally not responsible for the confusion, and was stellar in accepting the returns. Buy with confidence.

I put all my addresses in it the cover and the back are a work of art. I can't put into words how much I love it! I showed it to all my friends and family and highly recommended it. They all were impressed. And I searched a long time to find it.

Very nice hard bound journal. I was not expecting it to be as nice as it is. So happy with this purchase ordered for my nephew as a Christmas gift and I’m sure he will love it!!
