New favourite string set.
Fantastic lively Nickel strings for a bright warm modern tone. Sounds huge after EQ and Compression. I cant comment on the longevity of the Nickel Elixirs but ive had Stainless Steel Elixirs on my bass for the last 6 months and they sound just as good as they did when I first installed them, expecting the same for these.

For ever and ever...
Beautiful strings and definitely worth the price. Being a professional musician in the '60s early '70s I recently decided to take up the instrument again for my own amusement. Not being available when I was a pro these strings were new to me ( I used to use La Bella back in the day). Supposedly they were less punishing on the fingertips and last longer. They certainly are easy to play with no cuts to the fingers after lots of slides eg Come Together -The Beatles. They are more like a nylon string to play, with a smooth silky finish. They also have a rich full tone which being a La Bella aficionado I particularly like. As for longevity. If, as they say, they last a working musician at least six months I probably wont ever have to buy another set. I'll ask my grandson to update this review in 25 years, HeHe. I would definitely buy these again. Oh by the way the instrument I have them on is a four string Overwater Classic "J" bass.

Original strings not fake
Buying genuine strings is so much more rewarding from a person who has been duped in the past only ones

Long lasting smooth feel
Long lasting coated string. Like a thin condom wrapping the entire string. Will break faster if your an aggressive player. But very strong Strings last much much longer that normal strings. Always worth the money. Feel like compression wound stings too. Very smooth. Easy slides and articulation. Sound is good.

Bright, bouncy, long lasting tone
Elixir nanoweb coated strings are designed to retain their tone up to about 4x longer than conventional strings. On acoustic guitars, it is often observed that these kind of strings are duller when new than conventional strings, though guitars such as Taylors are now being designed with the particular characteristics of the string in mind. These bass strings, though, are easily as bright and bouncy when new as most bass players would wish for, and retain a brighter tone for much longer, as with their acoustic guitar cousins. These strings do cost about three times as much as a set of conventional strings, and experience with Elixirs suggests they are no less likely to break, so these would not be a good investment for players who regularly break strings -- though, with bass guitar, regularly breaking strings is almost certainly a sign of a sharp edge somewhere on the bridge or fretboard. For those who like to have a consistently good tone throughout the life of the string, and want to avoid the week or so of 'zingyness' which accompanies new strings, these are ideal, and well worth the extra. Strongly recommended for serious players. -- A note on gauge. These are Mediums, 0.045 to 0.105, rather than the 0.040 Lights that many people play with. On bass guitar there is no particular reason why Medium should be a problem, and heavier strings should normally give better tone. However, a bass with already very high action which for some reason cannot be lowered would not be suitable for going up a string gauge.

Beuatiful
Meant for Taylor Guitar. Nice on my fingers. Best string money can buy. Could be cheaper

Glides like butter
These strings have the NANOWEB coating which makes playing feel amazing! My fingers can glide very smoothly and quickly and it does not wear out my fingers as some other non coated round wounds would. They hold their bright tone very well so you wont need to change strings as often as other strings too. I have been playing finger style, with a pick, slap and the strings have held up through it all.

Ideal Bass Strings
I've used these strings for many years after trying a fair variety of other brands. When new they don't have that excessively bright tone of new round wound strings, so if you like that sound and are prepared to keep buying new sets, then go with that. When I used to get non coated strings the tone would start out very bright and then just keep getting worse for ever. What I like about nano web is they start out with the sound of a slightly played in set and then pretty much stay that way forever. I have mostly gone several years between changes and even then it is because eventually they break, as do all strings in the end, but they still sound fine up to that point. They are quite an expensive string in the first place but they last way longer and I'm sure they cost less in the long run.

Corde Elixir - Pienamente Soddisfatto!
Complimenti a rivenditore e corriere!

Simply The Best
I’ve been playing for 50 years, and I’ve tried all the usual suspects in bass strings, but once I got my hands on Elixirs, there was no turning back, because there is literally nothing on the market quite like them. Easy on the fingers, buttery smooth and easy to play, long lasting, and consistent quality from set to set. I prefer the 45-105 (45-130 for my 5-string) nickel plated, although you can get the stainless ones if you want a brighter sound. I use them on all five the basses I use regularly (Sire V10dx, Rickenbacker 4003, Yamaha TRBX605FM 5-string, Fender MIM Deluxe Precision P/J and my 1983 Guild Pilot. I play out pretty much every week, and get great tone and life out of these strings, often going 4-6 months before I change them out. They are so playable, they actually help my play faster and more precisely, across a wide variety of music. If they aren’t using them, I tell my fellow bass players all the time: try them! I wish everything we bought was of this high, consistent quality. If you are a gigging bass player and you’re serious about your gear, they are WELL WORTH the expense. Very highly recommended.
