I researched dehydrators for months before finally settling on this one. I was a little apprehensive about this purchase as I tend to go with well-known brands when it comes to kitchen appliances, simply because they tend to stand the test of time. Upon receiving this item, however, I was very pleasantly surprised! The quality cannot be understated. I was originally going to purchase what may be considered the "Cadillac" of dehydrators, but I honestly believe this is a better value for the money -- not to mention the stainless steel model by the most well-known competing brand costs approximately 3 times the price of this one. The racks are sturdy and very easy to clean, heating element temperatures are accurate when tested with a laser thermometer, and everything I have made has turned out fantastic. I also purchased silicone dehydrator sheets separately for more water-laden foods, which have definitely come in handy when making fruit or vegetable roll-ups. I have had this product for about 3 months now and have made jerky, apples, veggie chips, bananas, dried citrus, dried herbs, soup vegetables, kale chips, roll-ups, and much more. All have turned out perfectly and have dried in less time than other models I have used in the past. I also use the dehydrator for making yogurt and proofing breads by setting it to one of the lower temperature settings. All in all, this is a fantastic product. If you are on the fence comparing this model to a more well-known brand, please keep in mind that this model is EXTREMELY quiet and is all STEEL. Better known brands may have acquired a reputation over the years, but they are also fashioned from PLASTIC and much, much louder while operating. This is the best bang for your buck. Period. Best features: Stainless Steel and easy to clean, Runs quiet, constructed well, and I love the glass door. I also love how it looks and it fits very well on counter top. It arrived quickly. The temp goes high enough to safely do jerky where as some other brands will only go to 155 degrees. Negatives: The temp and time settings are very basic. I could'nt get the temp to run at 135 degrees and had to do 140 but maybe I misread instructions. The time feature will not allow to go under 30 minutes which really is not a problem and the digital buttons are also extremely sensitive. I think that I like knobs to turn instead of buttons. People may complain about the cost being higher but this is a stainless steel machine with quality stainless steel racks which other brands often have plated chrome, so the costs should be expected. It would have been helpful to have a better informed booklet with tips on dehydrating. I ran my first batch of apple slices right after I cleaned and ran the 30 minute pre-run. Apple slices turned out just how I had hoped. This is a super quality machine. I don't understand why people would complain about it warming up a room. -Of course it will heat up your room! It is like having a heater blowing so people should expect some heat to come out of any dehydrator! I love it.

This dehydrator is really well built and feels very durable. I absolutely love it! For the price it couldn't be any better! I have used it now for months and never had an issue with it. It comes with plastic mesh and stainless steel trays and a drip tray. I love the variety and use different trays for different foods. The digital programmer has worked flawlessly and is a cinch to set up. There are other more expensive dehydrators on the market but why pay more for a brand name when this dehydrator looks and works exactly like the others for a fraction of the cost. I needed a high quality dehydrator because I am on a restricted diet and this one does not disappoint. Highly recommend!!

It's so easy to dehydrate foods with this dehydrator. When I purchase too much produce for us to eat, I can simply dehydrate my vegetables and fruits to use later. The unit is super efficient, quiet and keeps the kitchen warm in the winter. It is nice and big and so fun to use!

I am very impressed with the Samson"Silent" 10 Tray Stainless Steel Dehydrator - Digital Controls - Glass Door. Its very beautiful. Stainless steel trays and nonstick plastic insert trays for smaller items. This dehydrator is indeed very quiet. It sits in my kitchen on a counter where I run it all day. The noise is not the least bit annoying. Its very quiet. Its easy to use. I like the low temperatures (95 degrees) that you can dehydrate with. The controls are easy to figure out. There is only on thing that I have a suggestion for the manufacturer. There is a beep (not loud) that sounds at the end of the dehydrating session. It beeps 20 times! I have found no way to silence it nor turn it off. I don't need this feature but since its in my kitchen. I can live with this as I love the Samson"Silent" 10 Tray Stainless Steel Dehydrator - Digital Controls - Glass Door.

I have never used another dehydrator before this one, so while I don't have much to compare to, I can say this dehydrator works far better than I expected. It's not noisy at all, at least not noticeably. I can tell there is a fan running, but that's all. It makes 1/6 inch jerky in 2-3 hours (at 158 degrees), and takes anywhere from 4-8 hours for 1/4 inch jerky (longer for sirloin or fatty pieces). It dehydrates fairly evenly, but I do flip jerky after 1-2 hours so it doesn't stick to the racks. Fruit and mushrooms haven't needed to be turned. It looks great and is SO easy to clean. I have next to no mess to clean up, and the first time I don't even need to clean the racks after every use. I'm addicted to using this thing, I highly recommend it and I've had it nearly 3 years now.

J'utilise abondamment mon déshydrateur depuis plus d'un an. Je l'adore. Simple à programmer et à utiliser. Je l'utilise beaucoup plus que je prévoyais le faire à l'achat. Cuir de fruits, tisanes, légumes et fruits séchés ou en poudre, tomates confites, toutes mes épices du jardin et je fais même mon yogourt dedans, je peux faire une énorme quantité dans un gros bol fermé, et la chaleur est maintenue par le deshydrateur. Il sèche de façon relativement uniforme mais c'est parfois avantageux de changer des étages de place pour les choses longues à sécher. On peut enlever des étages, ce qui permet de mettre des aliments plus épais, ou de mettre un tas de feuilles et d'herbes sans devoir placer chaque feuille à plat. Aussi utile pour donner le premier petit coup de séchage de l'ail qui a besoin d'un peu de chaleur pour limiter le développement de champignon pendant la conservation. Largement moins bruyant que le tout petit model en plastique que j'avais avant. Assez peu bruyant pendant qu'il fonctionne pour qu'il ne me dérange pas la nuit... sauf... sauf qu'il y a une sonnerie qui avertit de la fin du fonctionnement. Et elle sonne une dizaine fois. Impossible de la désactiver. C'est le seul défaut de cette belle machine, quand on veut la faire fonctionner la nuit. Il venait avec des grillages de plastique , il y en avait un de cassé a la récepion et la compagnie me l'a remplacé sans chichi. Très bon service. Par ailleurs, j'ai acheté des tapis de silicone avec rebord pour chacune de mes tablettes, environ 30$pour 3 tapis au moment de l'achat. Un investissement qui permet une plus vaste utilisation de mon déshydrateur, je ne le regrette pas, je les utilise beaucoup.

Nous avons faite l'achat d'un compétiteur sans le nommé avant celui-ci et nous étions déçus de la qualité du produit non-robuste. Nous avons ensuite acheté le déshydrateur Samson et franchement ce produit est robuste, fiable, très peu bruyant, la qualité des produits que nous séchons est incroyable, facile à laver, beaucoup d'espace pour mettre une grosse quantité de légumes ou fruits, etc. Nous recommandons ce produit à toutes les familles et tout le monde!

Did tons of research comparing this to the Excalibur and others that are 3 times the price. This has a huge capacity, is very attractive, and very quiet compared to the more expensive machines. Highly recommended.
