I use these timer switches for the lights in my aquarium. I used one for 2 years and it is still working well, so recently purchased another for a different aquarium.I recently left one of these timer switch unplugged for over a week and it still remembered the time and timer settings, which was quite convenient!The only minor disadvantages of these are that they are quite bulky so can't be used in an extension plug socket without putting them on a plug cube first, and they are also not that intuitive to use, so you will need to keep hold of and refer to the instruction booklet.

Unit is very easy to set up, as it has built-in battery back up. Bought this to replace a rather old and noisy mechanical timer. Pleased with my choice, the item arrived before the estimated date. The timer is very easy to set up, I am only using it to time twice a day every day, But reading the instruction leaflet it is very versatile giving you a good range of options for setting different days of the week.Very pleased with this item as it does work extremely well, I would certainly recommend it. Haven’t tried it on random mode not really needed that facility that have faith it will work well.

These are to use when away from home to simulate the home is being used. My two switches are used in upstairs and at the entrance and programmed at different time simulating someone is at home

Stopped working on timed Nov 24 not worth the money

I use my timer for operating a security light. Before ordering I studied all similar products and chose this for its apparent simplicity and so it has proved in practice. The product came with the battery partially charged so, once programmed, (which was easy to do) it was ready to go. The manufacturers claim a timer tolerance of two minutes a month which is good enough for my purposes. It was a little high in price compared to some but if it proves to be reliable in the long term, it will have been worth it.

I have had two of these. They are easy to set up and work well, but they don't last. Both had light use but after a while they just ceased to function. LCD display goes blank and nothing will bring it back. Both times have been after a period of no use. It's as if there is some kind of rechargeable battery in it keeping the settings. I took one apart but couldn't see anything like a battery. My advice, keep it plugged in at all times just in case. Or stick with mechanical. My first mechanical timer to fail did so this summer after 22 years of service.
