The passport covers are really handy. The transparent design makes it super easy to show your passport without taking it out, which is a big time-saver at airports. The frosted PVC material feels durable and does a great job of protecting against water and dust. Plus, the anti-scratch feature keeps the passport looking new, even after being tossed around in a bag. On the downside, the covers are a bit tight, making it a little tricky to slide the passport in and out. Also, the frosted finish, while protective, can make the passport details a bit hard to read in certain lights. Lastly, it would be nice if they came in more color options for a bit of personalization. Overall, these covers do a solid job of keeping passports safe and clean, with just a few minor tweaks needed.

I purchased this 2-pack with a bit of apprehension due to the comments/reviews saying it was “too small” and “didn’t fit.” I actually needed more than 2 but wanted to “test it out” first to make sure before committing to further purchases. For reference, we have Irish, British, and US passports. Visually, they’re all the same size (the US, however, is much thicker). The item was delivered in a cardboard envelope and is packaged in plastic wrap - nothing fancy. 2 passport plastic covers were inside. Passports slid into the covers without much fuss, though with some necessary bending of passports. Once installed, I closed the passports and…they would not fully close due to the plastic not fully fitting. I would estimate it being less than a millimetre too short (width-wise); long enough to slide the passport in, but just a bit too short to fully close the passports - specially if they’re thick (like the US passport). I like the quality of the item and the fact that it has a slot in the back to slide other things like the EHIC card or cash or whatever, so I didn’t want to return it. Instead, I McGyver-ed a workaround: Take the passport with the ill-fitting plastic cover and set it down with the front cover facing up, but don’t force it close (you’ll either rip the plastic cover or permanently bend/crease your passport). Grab a hairdryer and set it to “medium” (not too hot that it melts the plastic and not too cool that it has no effect). Hold the hairdryer about 6 inches from the passport and turn it on. Blow back and forth for a few seconds then gradually push down the cover of the passport (while continuing blowing) until it fully closes. Press down firmly on the passport and give it a couple seconds more under the hairdryer and then let it cool. Presto! Perfectly fitting plastic cover. Notes: the entire thing should take less than 30 seconds…I would say it should take all of 20 secs (if that). Most new passports have a chip embedded in the back cover or the data page so this is why it’s important to blow dry the front cover (to be honest, considering the abuse most people put their passports through, I doubt a few seconds of hairdrying in medium heat would damage the chip, but it’s better to be safe than sorry).

Although inexpensive, the covers were of decent quality and I believe they will do the job—no complaints. Is definitely suitable for a standard British Passport.

Good cover, a little tight but does stretch if Leo flat with some weight.
