I was expecting a soft and warm basic flashlight for seeing things only a few feet away. I was surprised when they throw a pretty good amount of bright concentrated light for a decent ways. So much so it’s my backup camping flashlight when a head lamp is overkill.It’s no tactical flashlight by any stretch, so don’t buy it for that purpose. Though it will still make someone think twice if you get them in the eyes within 10 feet.When you need to free up your hands and still need light, the side light is awesome. It’s just as bright and good for tighter spaces, doesn’t have the throw distance. Don’t expect to be setting up a tent with the side light only.I will say that some of the other reviews about quality of the casing is correct. The casing on these is very delicate. Drop one from waist height onto a concrete garage floor and the battery cover will eject like James Bond. It has fit back on for me, but it is noticeably looser fitting. I wouldn’t be surprised if it will require some ‘advanced’ bondage sooner than later.

My reading comprehension skills need a little work. Missed in the description the word "plastic", so I was disappointed when I opened the package and they weren't aluminum. Then I put batteries in one....not bad! I carry a similar one for work, but the beam light failed. I have carried one of these for the past 2 weeks, and it's doing pretty good. The magnet is on a machine somewhere (it stayed when I took the light), but it is still going strong. These are a very handy light to keep around. I will throw one in a vehicle, in my tool box, next to the bed, on my desk, anyplace that it is handy when I need to shed a little light on my world.

This review is for the four pack set. I've been using pocket flashlights in the field for decades. They all have their issues, regardless of price. I purchased this set back in June, and just retired the first one today due to switch deterioration. I use this flashlight constantly 5 days a week, sometimes on weekends. The issues in order were... battery cover does not stay on. Used electrical tape to secure. Magnet fell out. Used CA glue to reinstall. I cut the pocket clip off before using. It's worthless and just got in the way. For the constant use, getting dropped, and dirty, coming in contact with chemicals, it has performed equally, or better than more expensive units. The best part is... I have 3 more.

Flashlight itself is not very big. It comes in a nice case for all 4. i don’t see how I woulduse or need a nice case like that.The forward facing light is not as bright as the one on the side. It’s good for small up close things the light on the side is good for longer searches or walking at night. It just shows what is directly in front of you.

Neat concept and fairly bright!! Only problem is that the flashlight on the left in the first picture is missing it’s metal bottom, so this flashlight cannot be used as it was intended. I didn’t open my package until after the return window closed so now I had to give this gift as is. If you buy these, open your package up right away and make sure that they are all in good condition!
