Cute!
This was super cute and the backstories had depth! The buildup to conclusion was nicely done :). Characters were well painted.

Enemies to lovers perfection
Fake dating enthusiasts rejoice because THIS đđŒ IS đđŒ IT. I have been patiently waiting for my library to order and receive this book after I put in my request several weeks ago. It finally came in on a Wednesday, I started it at 5PM after work, and I didnât put it down until I was done. Itâs been such a long time since I was so invested in a book that I was able to read it in one sitting. But They Hate Each Other (THEO) grabbed me from the get-go and held on tight. I ended up ordering my own copy from Amazon approximately 17 seconds after finishing my library copy đDylan RamĂrez (heck yes Hispanic rep) and Jonah Collins are archenemies. They hate everything about one another and make no attempts to hide their disdain. But Jonah gets wrecked at a homecoming party at Dylanâs house and ends up crashing in his bed, with Dylan. Rumors quickly begin circulating amongst their friend group, who are all too smug to say âtold you soâ as they have been trying to ignite a romance between the two for years. Dylan and Jonah decide the only way to get their friends off their back is to pretend to date for a little while, and then break up and never speak again. Seems simple enough, right? But then Dylan and Jonahâs trauma histories start surfacing, which results in both boys being there for one another in ways they could have never imagined. Suddenly, their feelings toward one another donât feel as fake as the two had anticipated.THEO is a YA romcom but doesnât feel YA. If youâve read my past reviews, you know I love a YA that doesnât hold back and actually shows that being a teenager is effing hard. Amanda executed this flawlessly in THEO. Dylan and Jonah, although teenagers, are really going through it. Theyâre dealing with some real life ish and I loved watching their journey and self-growth as they navigated their way, both individually and together. And I actually gasped at the end because as I was reading this book, I kept feeling that same âthis is how YA is done!â feeling that I get when I read Julian Winters books, and then I saw in the acknowledgements that he was a sensitivity reader! That was a lovely surprise. This book was hilarious, emotional, witty, heartbreaking, and then so heartwarming. I laughed, I cried, I cursed⊠I pledged my undying allegiance to so many amazing fictional characters. I donât give out 5 stars easily, but thereâs no question this was a 5 star read for me.

Loved it
Finally a book that's not spicy and deals with some deep aspects of life. I loved JoJo and Lil Dyl, they way they hate eachother just because they ignore who the other really is, whats his life like... i love they way the interact, and grow together. Thanks for a beautiful story

great story
This is a really well-written, beautiful story. I like the diverse representations in it- first, in having Black Latine main character (rare), but also the diversity of representations of class, family circumstances and temperaments. If I had a wish it would be that Mikâs character got a little more work - sheâs supposed to be a pre-teen/early teen but I couldnât really distinguish her from lily, they were lumped together too much (like when they are being helped into their coverups and swim shoes at the pool. I understand that they (the siblings) serve mainly to show off an important facet of Jonahâs personality, but there was potential I think for me to give Mik a bit more of her own age appropriate depth. Thank you again, loved it read it so fast and will read again Iâm sure

Heartwarming
I really loved this book even though it was YA. It was real enemies to lovers, its so freaking cute, so well executed. It brings up some very real issues/traumas. I relate to a lot of it, it made me feel happy to see that everything worked out. I would 100% recommend this book. Do check the triggers though.
