Walker Quiet-Flow SS 21690 Direct Fit Exhaust Muffler 2.25" Inlet (OD) 2.25" Outlet (ID) for Ram 1500

I got this to fit my '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is a quality walker muffler. My Jeep is much quieter now.

So I ordered this and the straight pipe and the front muffler and installed them in 2 hours. You will need 3- 2 1/4 exhaust clamps. You will also need a cut-off wheel or a reciprocating saw to remove the old exhaust components as the two mufflers are welded to the straight pipe between them. Also the clamp on the front muffler must be cut off as it is also welded together during the manufacturing process. If you are even mildly handy then this will not be a problem. Just make sure to orient the mufflers in their correct positions and this goes together easily. If any of the piece come a little out of round just use as a ball peen hammer or some vice grips to fix them up. Good luck and if all else fails.....Youtube it. Deuce

Purchased this muffler and the add said this Walker muffler was a direct fit. After the old muffler was removed, it was very obvious the intake and exhaust pipes were not close to the same diameter, and the muffler was significantly larger. So had to cut some pipe off and order two adaptors, and four clamps and a new hanger. Of course that meant someone had to go purchase the items needed for a proper installation. The extra time, parts, and labor involved was another $140 plus the cost of the muffler. Oh wait, there's more, we also needed a pipe expander, so as you might guess this fiasco went well over $200. It was a hard lesson to learn. (Buy locally and get it right!) Of course I could not return it, as I need a muffler on the car in order to drive it! To say the least, I'm very upset with this Walker (NOT) Direct Fit Muffler.
