The magnets make this work very well compared to others with suction cups. It lets no light through at all.

A very good.solution to get a total blackout room especially useful with summer brightness.The magnetic fastners work just fine and I cannot see any wear and tear after constant use throughout the summer so I would recommend these as an easy low cost situation to darkening a room.Nothing will ever beat shutters over the windows but this is a good alternative. Easy to cut fabric which luckily for me did two windows in different rooms. Just enough magnets to hold the fabric over the window.

Plenty of material but I’m a bit short on magnets to cover the windows I want to do. Our front room is south facing and so in the summer gets very hot! Last year I used insulating bubble wrap and tape to to keep the worst of the 40 degree heatwave out. This year, I wanted to get something that was quicker and easier to install and take down.Our front window is split in two and the way the frame is, I need to create two separate blackout blinds rather than one. There is plenty of material to do this but I will have to get more magnets to make it truly effective.This pushes the cost up.However, this is a nice quality little kit and the inclusion of a little tape measure is a really nice touch.When I get this to work on our window frames, I’ll update the review and photos. The high quality of the blackout material and provided fixtures means that I feel it’s worth my while trying to make it work rather than abandoning the whole thing. Please note, our house is old, slightly wonky and awkward- this will be a dream and dead easy to install in most houses.

Yes the magnets are better than other solutions when fitting for the very first time...Higher quality tape measure provided as well...You are still relying on glue for the other side... they provide 3M labeled sticky iron plates These are not temp they are use once items... you may even have issues getting one off again...Insure the Iron plates are going the correct location first time to avoid wasting a plate...You need to fix to the Plastic frame windows not painted wood frame windows the glue could pull the paint off... This is why you only fix to frames on this version not the glass as the light will break down the 3M Glue...You need to cover the hole frame and have the sheet cover into the walls or the light will light up the wall of the window as the iron plate is high enough to let light in if at the incorrect angle...Conclusion The fit once and reuse for the same window over and over is high with this design... not a temp design item...If you move or want to take this on holiday house from main home youll likely need to get some more units instead of removing the iron plates...Good permanent single room windows item...Edit .it's now November 2023 since getting in May 2023 and the glue on the iron plates was not consistent I have a 50% failure rate. So those labels are likely fake on half the units.Some are still super strong. other allready just come off unable to take half the blinds weight.
