Gave it to mother as a gift she loves it just could be a little louder but all in all pretty good

This is pretty much what I expected. I needed a small portable to go to flea markets in foreign countries. Something just to test records. Here is what I have discovered. The needle will indeed play 78's. And LP's. Which means they had to make some compromises. 78's do play. And so I assume do 45's. LP's depend. If the grooves on the LP are too thin it's going to hit a loud patch and jump. That is if they have put more than 25 minutes per side. It's a fairly thick stylus. AND it seems non-replaceable. You'd have to buy the whole tone arm.BUT having said that I am playing a fairly warped average record right now with no problems. That's because it probably has around 20+ minutes per side. It sounds okay. Considering. For a little portable player for testing vinyl it does its job. I would assume that if you seriously collect LP's you don't need this. Likewise classical music. This is simply for traveling. Not for audiophiles. But it serves my purposes.

sound is great...all the extras are a plus...You just have to read the directions. I think the negative reviews were from people who don't think instructions are important...Great little player with lots of features.

I tried 3 different records to make sure that it weren't my records that were defective but I could not get any sound out of it. Not from the built-in speakers, not from my BT speaker and the volume was all the way up. Also the stylus does it's own thing....the manual says, place the stylus on the first track. When I did that it slid toward the middle. Still no sound thought. Returning.

I couldn't get it to work. So I wouldn't gift it to anyone.
