Fantastic delivery if you're plugged into thr Amazon ecosystem !(as i am.....amd got kicked in the teeth when I dared to accept a free Samsung tablet with my s25. I was royally annoyed at the time , but I bowed in homage to the Bezos and bought the top of the line fire. .VERY nice it is too....seems to be a problem with their USB. C being ultra sensitive to moisture or dust. (Atmospheric i mean) i can leave it on charge while I go out. And it's a 50/50 chance it will do it! I'm not bad mouthing a very very nice Fire (probs best yet)....but I'm tired of the business wars, of you can't install that, or you can until 2 weeks later. When. It's only on Play. I used to love playing. KOTOR. Purchased it and everything. Review in nutshell Powerful and wonderful screen. Sound dolby atmosphere, works great . I love the fingerprint security (dont need to actually press the button. I don't have case for it yet, and though it's not heavy....it becomes so after an hour of trading or reading etc. I enjoy the device, it feels great. (-reason I don't have a case yet if I'm honest! The only issue for . Speaking as a lome consumer.i wish I could rely on it. Chatging . I get the Moisture. Detected every singe day......and it ncharges to 100%,if left and the port not wiggled until the lightening logo appears on the l The battery. Iid there a case with a different portt? And a key board.. I've already replaced one for this issue.....a reasonably. High value item that I enjoy a lot ( oh and I can just hear the moisture warning now..... its not even plugged in. So as you , this is THE device for those, like me who chose Amazon before they had much Competition, and now the annoying little dirty tricks of " if u want want to play X game. Then you I u need our device! " (nevermind a decade of apps that suddenly aren't crosscompatible, like they have been forever! OK...cut loose with a bit of saltiness there.....but it's still a great machine that is worth considering for ALL

I am delighted with this tablet. I have used Amazon tablets before and been perfectly happy with them as they are reliable, easy to use and extremely robust ( - I once dropped a Fire 8 downstairs where it landed on a stone floor still playing and completely undamaged!) Overall have found the length of life of Fire tablets to be exceptional. I had a Fire 7 that was many years old and still working fine which I gave away a couple of years ago. It is apparently still happily in use! I also value the customer support given by Amazon. I have minimal tech skills and have had speedy and exceptionally helpful and patient responses from Amazon staff on several occasions. However this Fire Max 11 really is a noticeable step up in performance. I especially like the speed of downloads, the screen and the whole feel and lighter weight of it. I do use a range of Amazon services such as Amazon Music, Audible, Alexa and Kindle so it's natural for me just to upgrade as the apps I use most are all ready and waiting. My Fire 11 was already over 70% charged on arrival and took about 15 minutes to set up. My internet connection and email accounts were already there as I chose set up based on my existing Fire tablet. There is an option to set up manually if preferred. Looking at points made by some other reviewers I have had a happier experience. I find the volume fine, better than a Fire 8 and ten and better than my partner's much more costly tablet. For music I would always use a speaker or headphones in any event and have found connection to Bluetooth on this to be very fast and reliable. My Echo and Anker speakers and headphones work well with the Fire 11. Without additional audio devices the Fire Max 11 is fine for the spoken word. The Amazon app store does have a free sound booster which works well on earIier Fire tablets and might be worth trying if you want extra volume. I also find the brightness of the screen fine and have actually reduced it a little. I am not a game player so can't comment on this but the excellent screen and speed would seem promising. The Google Play Store situation is a pain for many I appreciate, but it can be side loaded or downloaded very easily and there is ample guidance on this online together with links to the files needed. I have not yet installed an SD card but have done this on earlier Fire tablets with no difficulty. As another reviewer says it all depends what you want. It's worth analysing the things you wish to do with a tablet and deciding what will best meet your needs and budget. For me I value the Amazon reliability, customer support and services like Audible and Amazon Music greatly. Combined with the price and the attractive appearance and improved screen and speed this purchase was an easy decision. Come Prime Day I may be looking for a second Fire Max 11 for my partner!!

I can't stress this enough, Amazon's Fire Max 11 FINALLY eliminates the lag and stuttering that plagues every prior Fire tablet. Make no mistake, this isn't iPad performance but it's finally nice to venture away from using the tablet as just a media streamer - I can now run Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Flipboard, Excel and moderate games etc without the fear of the apps lagging and stuttering after just a few swipes which is what I found to happen on Amazon's next best tablet - the Fire HD 10 Plus - but not the Max 11. Sure, if you push the Max 11 hard enough or power scroll through apps, your bound to see some lag or stuttering, but you won't see it now from normal use. Coupling this performance boost with the absolutely GORGEOUS 11 inch screen and new metal back, the Max 11 literally feels premium which is a strange feeling for a Fire tablet. The extra 1 inch on the screen has made the screen taller (from portrate) rather than stretching it diagonally so the screen feels extra wide-screen if you use it horizontally. The screen clarity is crystal clear, the blacks are deep (although it's not an OLED or mini LED panel), the colours are more vibrant and overall brighter than the previous HD10 - ultimately an amazing screen. The Max 11 now has a fingerprint reader which is a first for a Fire tablet and is nice and fast, but you'll find it annoying like I did that if you purchase the ‘with special offers’ version of the tablet, then you'll be taken to an ad screen as soon as you unlock the screen with your finger print, this then requires an extra swipe to get into your tablet. You can eliminate the ads by paying £10 to Amazon and then your finger print will take you straight into the tablet - this can be purchased during the initial sale or after it. I paid the £10 after I'd setup the tablet and it took Amazon 10 mins to send the signal to my tablet to disable the ads. Do note that these tablets don't have Google Play Store installed and thus you are to use Amazon's Appstore which is very limited, but it does cover most of the media essentials and has somewhat improved over the years, but it’s absolutely no match for Google’s Play store. If you find Amazon's Appstore too limited them you can install Google Play store directly from the tablet and it only takes 5 mins to do so (a quick Google search will help you with this - do note that this requires ‘side loading’ of 4 Google apps that you download and install at your own risk - there are however certain established and trusted websites which offer these Google apps to download for free.). I'd highly recommend you do this as this gives you access to a far bigger and better Appstore which has the proper YouTube app, Gmail, Chrome etc. I also installed Google's Gboard app which is a far better keyboard than the stock keyboard on all Fire devices. The sound seems slightly better than the previous Fire HD10. The speakers are on the left or top (depending on your device orientation) and they're spaced far apart so they have great stereo separation, although they're not as bassey as an ipad, they're still great for movies and YouTube etc. Amazon have removed the 3.5mm audio jack which is a first for a Fire tablet, so you must use either wireless headphones via Bluetooth, or use wired headphones via a type C dongle. The device starts at 64GB storage but you can increase this via the micro SD card slot which is weirdly inside what looks like a SIM tray. There is also a 128GB model. Amazon claim a 14 hour battery life which is incredible, but your mileage may vary with screen brightness and app performance intensity being a major factor in battery life - still a huge battery and the biggest I’ve ever seen in any regular tablet. Similar to the HD 10 Plus, the Fire max 11 has 4GB RAM and an 8 core CPU, but the CPU is much faster than the previous generation and this is what makes the device run so much better. Be sure to install any updates as soon as you boot up the tablet for the first time as thiis will ensure optimal performance before you install your apps. You'll find that this extra power is useful to run productivity apps such as Excel and Word. The device feels solid and sturdy with its metal back and 'alumisilocate' glass which is supposedly very tough. I feel confident using my Max 11 without a case or screen protector. The cameras are supposedly improved from the previous gen but I don't ever use them so I can't comment on that here. It's nice though that the front facing camera is in the middle of the screen in horizontal orientation so you're not awkwardly out of centre during video calls. I absolutely love the Fire Max 11, I'll no longer use my Fire tablet as just a media streamer, but will feel confident running Excel for my finances, Flipboard for my interests and Facebook/Twitter/TikTok without the fear of lag. We’ve waited for this for a long time - a budget tablet slowly creeping into the ‘premium’ territory, yet its still unashamedly a budget device - now with a premium feel and decent specs. So Amazon have finally reached the premium end of the budget category with the Fire Max 11, it's an absolutely brilliant tablet and I'd recommend it to anyone in the market for a good all round tablet, but don't want to pay iPad prices. Amazon's Fire tablets now have their Max 11 as the flagship and it feels so much more comfortable venturing into light productivity, social media and moderate gaming, something we've never experienced this smoothly before on a Fire tablet. Because of this, I'd consider the Max 11 an essential purchase.

I bought this solely to use as a large screen for my dji drone remote control. As such it has been pretty good, providing a large clear screen. I haven't been able to test it under very bright conditions but it has been good under normal light conditions. The DJI drone app cannot be loaded directly from Amazon's own app store and Google's App store is not accessible to Amazon tablet owners, however I had no issues downloading it directly from DJI website. Access to apps is the biggest problem with this tablet. A work around is to use the Amazon Silk web browser and bookmark the home page of the company if you can't get its app (banking apps for one example). Some things just will not run such as Google earth or maps, other apps (Train line) appear to load but need an update then fail to work. On the positive side it has a very bright and clear screen. It also has a good set of speakers in my opinion and is pretty user friendly with a very good build quality. I don't tend to use its camera but I can find no problem with it, I would be happy enough if I had to use it as a fallback. The blu tooth works well and I use the tablet as a Spotify streaming source with my wireless speakers without any problems. This for me was a very good purchase. Definitely don't buy it when it is offered at the full price of nearly £250 but wait for it to come back down to about £160 (as it frequently does) and you will get a genuine bargain. In summary, it has a quality build with good hardware at a more than reasonable price only let down by the unavailability of some potentialy essential apps. Highly recommended with the above caveats. As soon as I saw that Amazon has a new high end fire tablet coming out I was immediately interested. I love how it now has a slightly bigger but way nicer screen. This is the best one yet. You'll definitely notice a big improvement over the hd10 screen. The build quality has had a huge upgrade as his this tablet is metal not plastic and it feels more premium because of it more comparable to a Samsung or iPad. There's now a fingerprint scanner built into the power button which works flawlessly and is fast and a first for a fire tablet. Storage has increased and is still expandable. Speed overall has taken a massive leap and I feel this is comparable to a premium device costing way more. The keyboard and stylus are nice additions I don't currently own either but am hoping to pick them up at some point in the future. Speakers are loud clear and sound great. This is without a doubt the best Amazon fire tablet they've made and though it costs more it is a more serious tablet for those after a premium device that will serve them well. You still get great value and it holds the crown as the best budget high end tablet available today I was lucky enough to get this as a Prime subscriber on prime day for a crazy low £139 but at £249 it's still worth every penny though sales like this make it a no brainer.

I have owned pretty much every Amazon tablet so far from the old Fire HD to the newer HD10’s and the Fire 8. I also have an iPad but I will come back to that. Fire Max 11 blows all previous Amazon tablets away and it should especially when it is nearly £100 more than the previous best. On opening you find a really premium device. Gone are the creaky plastic cases. Gone is the headphone jack as well. Instead you get a beautiful aluminium body that is really tactile. The buttons are all on one side with the USB C socket for charging and SD card slot which accepts up to 1tB of additional storage. I’m not able to go into lots of technical jargon or processing speed tests as I am a normal consumer but right out of the box it feels far more responsive than previous fire tablets. Bluetooth is more reliable and with WiFi 6 downloads are fast and snappy. Yes there is the usual concern about limited apps in the Amazon App Store but to be honest most of the main things are there. Yes there are ways to add other stores like sideloading but this can be risky and unadvisable. Apart from the speed increase, the star of the show is the display. It is gorgeous. I know others will have better dpi etc but for watching media content or playing games on streaming services like gamepass or the excellent Luna that works flawlessly on the fire 11, the display excels. Going back to my iPad, it is the 2019 version and this display is better to me. The main reason is I like doodling with a pen and on the iPad the air gap between display and glass makes a hollow tapping sound. This is true of a large number of tablets including the older fire tablets. The fire max 11 doesn’t have this gap and the result is a brighter more vivid display somehow and it doesn’t have the hollow knock when using pens. You really have to see it to appreciate the difference. My only criticism is that the price for official Amazon accessories is creeping up to the fruit manufacturer levels. With a case in the region of £50 and the pencil £39 ish it’s getting expensive to justify buying them. I went with a decent other brand case but there are no third party pencils that currently work with the fire tablet. It is though a brilliant tablet, my daily goto. I was lucky enough to pick one up on prime day in a deal which really makes this tablet a steal. This is not just a great Amazon tablet but a really great tablet in its own right and a must for media consumers shortlists.

As soon as the Fire Max 11 was introduced I knew I wanted one to replace my Fire HD10 Plus, but decided to wait until Prime Day. Boy am I glad I did.... 42% off, so a brand new tablet for £150 (without ads), it was a no brainer. When I took it out of the box I was initially surprised that it did not seem to be much bigger than the HD10, but then realised the bezels were much thinner and when it was turned on I could really see how much more screen real estate there was considering the small increase in screen size. The HD10 Plus is a good tablet, but the Fire Max 11 steps it up a notch, it feels higher quality which I put down to its metal construction and it feels much snappier. I purchased the keyboard case too which I am using to write this review and it also feels good quality with plenty of room to type. It turns the tablet into a decent budget laptop solution, so I may end up selling my old MacBook. The display is crisp and bright and the finger print sensor works really well and saves having to enter a PIN everytime I want to use it. Battery life seems very good, but I have not had chance yet to see if it will be better than the excellent life of the HD10. The sound isn't wonderful, but perfectly fine for watching the odd YouTube video. If I wanted to listen to music I would use headphones. For those people complaining about it not having the Play store, it clearly states in the "We want you to know" part of the description "that Google Play is not supported on Amazon Fire Tablets". Amazon Fire tablets use their own bespoke version of Google OS, so that is similar to saying why can't I install Windows programs on my MAC .... they are different operating systems, albeit based on Google. This does not mean that you cannot add the Play Store to the Fire Max 11 as that is the first thing I did when I took it out of the box. It took less than 10 minutes and is very simple to do, no special skills needed. For those undecided, just try it. With the points I have mentioned I don't think you will be disappointed.

Big-time entertainment in a small package The Fire Max 11 is a great little tablet for everyday use. It's not the most powerful tablet on the market, but it's definitely got enough juice for streaming movies, browsing the web, and playing some light games. Here are some of the things I like most about the Fire Max 11: The display: The 11-inch, 1080p IPS display is really nice. It's bright and clear, and the colors are vibrant. I've been enjoying watching movies and TV shows on it, and it's also great for reading ebooks and comics. The battery life: The battery life on the Fire Max 11 is phenomenal. I've been getting around 14 hours on a single charge, which is more than enough to get me through a day of use. The size and weight: The Fire Max 11 is the perfect size for a tablet. It's not too big or too small, and it's light enough to hold comfortably for long periods of time. The price: The Fire Max 11 is very affordable, especially when compared to other tablets on the market. It's a great value for the money. Of course, there are a few things that I don't love about the Fire Max 11. The biggest drawback is that it runs on Amazon's Fire OS, which is a modified version of Android. This means that you don't have access to the Google Play Store, so you'll be limited to the apps that are available in the Amazon Appstore. This isn't a huge deal for me, but it's something to keep in mind if you're a big Google Play user. Overall, I'm really happy with the Fire Max 11. It's a great little tablet for everyday use, and it's a great value for the money. If you're looking for a tablet for streaming, browsing the web, and reading ebooks, the Fire Max 11 is a great option. I would also recommend getting the optional keyboard case and stylus. The keyboard case makes it easy to type on the go, and the stylus is great for taking notes and drawing. Or the Techgear case for max protection Here are some additional things to keep in mind: The Fire Max 11 comes with 64GB of storage, but you can expand it up to 512GB with a microSD card. The Fire Max 11 has a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. The camera quality is decent. The Fire Max 11 is available in two colors: black and pink. I hope this helps!
