This is truly a beautiful book. It’s well written and the photos are stunning. My camera doesn’t do it justice. I’ve been following their YouTube channel for sometime now and when Tim wrote this book, I was like I have to get it. If you like French architecture and history this chateau will not disappoint you at all. What a incredible place this is with all of its unique architecture and history.

since I bought a hardcover book [I have a Kindle] and the feel and general production was a pleasure. The amount of "hard yakka" required is amazing on this community project. From the Architect, the owners, the State, the amazing artisans, the other workers, the suppliers and the volunteers it will continue and gain momentum. Trying to remodel an older house to provide comfort and an aesthetic experience for myself I feel much better when things get on top of me and I compare my tiny project to theirs. Congratulations and best wishes.

The author Mr. Holding and fiancé Felicity originally from Australia, have embarked on the huge task of saving the 18th century historic Chateau Puron. The book is a diary of their adventures and trials in this restoration. It has proven extremely interesting in their un-covering artifacts and information that have almost been lost to history. They also produce a u-tube program that actually helps the reader become thoroughly enveloped in the journey they have taken. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves old chateau in need of restoratio and saving French historical buildings. The purchase price also helps with the financial cost of the restoration for this remarkable building.

Great coffee table book. And gift

After reading this book-everyone will want to head to France and restore a Chateau!!!! Forget the obstacles… the adventure would be worth it!

The photos are beautiful and the narrative is interesting. The story behind the restoration effort is a touching one. The book is beautifully put together, both physically and content-wise. That said, I am actually disappointed by the absence of any photo showing any room or any part of the chateau that is fully restored and furnished. Maybe I was wrong to assume that the "journey to restore" part of the subtitle implied that the restoration effort is well on its way with some substantial, visible, tangible results to show to the general public. Not the case. I do get that the vast majority of the resources on these historical restoration projects go to invisible repairs and such. But still. There is no sense of closure and I am left with... what? The feeling I had at the end of Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back? That I will have to wait for 3 more years for another installment to come out? Not satisfying. At all.

I ordered this book when in France to coincide with my return to England. Hardly put it down. Beautiful narrative, stunning photos. A wonderful complement to the brilliant YouTube channel.

Aún estoy leyendo, pero me resulta muy interesante toda la introspección personal en el proceso de restauración del chateau, así como todo el esfuerzo de profundización en la historia del edificio, sus habitantes y las interrelaciones con las tumultuosas épocas que han atravesado sus muros hasta llegar -casi tal como se construyó- hasta nuestros días, hasta el inicio de su rescate en plena pandemia.

Château Reawaking est sublime, plein de tendresse d’Histoire et d’histoires. La plume est belle et remplie d’émotion. Un feu d’artifices de photos grand format me plongent dans les travaux de rénovation colossaux que ce beau couple australien a entrepris. Les anecdotes, c’est ce que j’adore le plus je crois. A eux 2, ils arrivent à remplir de vie un château de 200 ans qui peut abriter 100 personnes ! Bravo et merci ! Merci de nous permettre de découvrir un héritage de l’histoire de la France. Merci pour nous lecteurs de le savourer de cette manière. PS: la qualité du livre et des photos sont excellentes .
