Dap 53005 Plaster of Paris Box Molding Material, 4.4-Pound, White

Having looked around for new projects to do I've found one in particular where you can do moldings of a foot/hand with sand and plaster. Interested in this project I went to fetch the needed item though I wasn't able to find any plaster of paris around the craft stores around here. Wanting to really do the project I went on Amazon to try my luck and was happy when I was able to find it.The mixing instruction is very easy. 2 parts plaster and 1 part water. It basically means if you use 2 cups of plaster you use 1 cup of water and that has worked well for my project. The plaster was already hardening in the mold in 10 minutes to where you can probably sculpt it with the proper tools if you were gentle enough. I hadn't been able to do any scraping or sculpting but the mold worked out perfectly and hardened fully in less than an hour, though it was only a small picture frame sized mold.I would say to handle it with a bit of caution and not to be too rough on it or drop it since it can still break. It's not like glass or anything too brittle but if you're too rough or strong on it the plaster may snap or break.

This is a good quality of plaster of paris molding medium. It is very easy to use and mixes up well and can be used in a variety of mold sizes. This was more than I needed for my project, so I just take some out and use it for making other molds or for crafts with my family. It is a good product.

I'm always worried I won't get the actual product shown. This came in the correct package and works just like the real thing.

Great plaster for casting molds of baby's hand. There were a lot of bubbles when I mixed it, but they did not affect the quality of the finished casts. The plaster preserved the details of the mold quite well. I find that adjusting the ratio of plaster mix to water so that it is thicker makes for a faster drying time, without negative effects.For those who can't picture what size the carton is by its weight, the 4.4 lb. container is about the size of a half-gallon carton of milk.

if you're ordering plaster... you already know this is the best brand. so all I can say is that it came on time. box wasn't opened or anything. fair price. no problems.

Works as you'd expect, careful when shipping with other items, some loose plaster dust in the box but it's kind of impossible to avoid when dealing with plaster. All in all it saved me a trip to the department store.

I use this to make my own chalk finish paint. This product blends well, it's virtually lump free. Plaster of Paris is not a product I would have normally purchased for any reason, but when you price out the store bought pre-made chalk paints, it makes good sense to learn how to make your own. Sloane paints will put you in the poorhouse, so go to YouTube, learn how to make your own... it feels very organic :)

The plaster of paris sets quickly .. under an hour, then you can unmold from a silicone mold in about 4 hours depending on the size and thickness of your mold. I use it for art rocks giving a nice smooth surface to paint on when dry. Great quality, lightweight, easy to mix and very smooth when cured. I definitely recommend it.

This is exactly as I expected. I like the fact that it has a longer shelf life than most products, and you don’t have to worry about it drying out like premade ones.The best part is that you can mix it to whatever consistency you need, for whatever project you were doing

J'ai été impressionné à le travaillant ses hydrocale est correct peu être un défaut il sèche beaucoup trop vite ce que je faisais je gardais de l'eau propre et quand il durcissait je remettais de l'eau sa pas eu d'impact négatif par la suite
