10/10: You must read this book
This is the second time that I’ve read this book. Parts of this book are heavy going and the stories and references will undoubtedly have less relevance today than when the book was first published in 1937. With that said this book still gets 10/10 because its core ideas are timeless and hugely important in achieving success. Many personal development books build on the foundations of this book and this is a great book to read early on in your life and career.Read it, take notes and revisit the teachings regularly to get maximum benefit. There are many follow up actions that are required after reading this book and unless you make the effort to action these then don’t be surprised if success remains illusive. Here are some of the key learnings I took away from this book.Introduction• Success is mind control is self-disciple and habit• Reading a book is not enough. To reap the full benefit you must study, digest and meditate on the contents• Try highlighting interesting passages and transferring these to a separate sheet of paper that can be studied regularly• Most of what you learn in school is of no use in the accumulation of riches• Building wealth starts with your state of mind. You must desire wealth incredibly deeply to ensure you don’t quit, like most other people, when encountering temporary defeatDesire• You must develop and reinforce a burning desire1. Decide exactly how much money you want2. Determine what you are willing to sacrifice to obtain this money3. Set a date by which you must have accumulated the money4. Create a clear plan and begin immediately5. Write all the above as a statement of intent6. Read this statement twice daily• Visualise having all this money. You must believe!Faith• The dominating thoughts of your mind recreate themselves in outward, physical action. Once your mind is dominated by these thoughts you will have FAITH.• To build your own faith follow the self-confidence formula in the bookAuto-suggestion• Any thoughts that you persistently hold in your mind will result in plans being suggested to your sub conscious mind.Specialised knowledge• Knowledge is worthless unless it is organised and intelligently directed• Anyone who stops studying after school is doomed to mediocracyImagination• Imagination is a limiting factor because man can create anything that he imagines• Your imagination will help you formulate definite plans to build your wealthOrganised planning• Work with other people (your ‘Master Mind’ alliance) to help formulate effective plans• Your plans will often fail. Persevere and create new plansThe mastery of procrastination• Be in the habit of reaching decisions quickly and starting to work on your plans immediatelyPersistence• To build a great fortune you must be incredibly persistent• To help you build persistence focus on building a definite purpose, defining a clear plan and closing your mind to negative influences and surrounding yourself with positive and able peopleThe power of the master mind• You will become the average of your associates so choose your company carefully• Associating yourself with people that have some expertise in the area you are looking to be successful can greatly accelerate your successThe mystery of sex• The emotion of sex can lift your brain to new heights. This can be achieved by getting an attractive secretary, for example!• Most young men dissipate this sexual emotion and limit their ability to reach such heightsThe subconscious mind• Your subconscious mind is an intermediary between your desires and actionable stepsThe sixth sense• Once you have mastered the other steps will enable great ideas to voluntarily come to your mind (e.g. hunches)

If i could i would have given 10 Starts!
Yes, this book will change your life forever. It definitely changed mine. In what concerns to Personal Development Texts, I would say this is the most complete book about the subject in the market. Napoleon Hill, indeed, covers pretty much all aspects about the power of the human mind to materialise anything we desire in life. And, believe me when i say, I have read tons of books about personal development. But so far, this book is the best. However, to make it more clear, this book is not the best in terms of providing detailed information in each and every aspect of the process of manifestation. Nevertheless, it does cover all aspects of it in a reasonable profound manner. Obviously, if your intention is to expand your knowledge in a very specific aspect of the process of manifestation, for example Persistence, or Law Of Attraction, then i would advise you to get a book focusing solely on that specific aspect. Furthermore, If you are new into this type of knowledge, this would be the first book to start with. It will provide you with a general overview of this Power, and will boost your motivation to expand your knowledge about it. After reading this book, i would strongly recommend Bob Proctor's Book "Thoughts are thinks'. Again, another amazing book! The bottom line is, once you start reading this type of subject, you must continue reading more and more about it. The reason for that is you must imprint this concept into your subconscious mind in order to use this power properly and effortlessly. And, the more knowledge you accumulate, more your subconscious mind will accept it and use it in your favour. Wish you all the best in your personal development journey. And remember, Be ALWAYS Blessed! Be ALWAYS a Blessing!

Applicable and thought-provoking, but…
The practical advice to start with a desire, have a definite purpose, believe it, act on it and throw out all negative influences is most applicable to all. However, the author wrote the book during an era of the Great Depression that inspired wonderful inventions we enjoy today… and with it, destructive greed and capitalism. There are several general opinions the author makes that are incorrect, for example “There is no such thing as something for nothing.”; yes there is, it’s called “charity”. Or for another example, “Every man aims to please a woman” (dealing with the desire and greatness). This is a general opinion because one cannot assume another’s internal reasons for wanting to achieve greatness. I often wondered, during the course of reading, whether the context in which the author was writing — economic depression, joblessness, fear and related despondencies — is applicable to modern life given that majority industries have been corporatised and reduced to soulless meat-grinders and that every man or woman seeking to invent new, disruptive technologies never see the light of day. So against this backdrop it’s easy to agree with most of the authors writing if industry was truly free to accommodate the new and exciting changes.Overall, it’s a good read that raises deeper appreciation for those that came before and their battles to achieve greatness, showing that the same success is available to all select few… those who will believe with singleness of purpose.

When people blow up your expectations
Everyone was saying, read this and definitely there's a lot of good stuff. Maybe it is because I recognised exactly how I let myself be scammed by a so called business mentor who was using these techniques for self gain (ie money and greed) but not giving damn of what he left in his wake. The book is not at fault however I think it encourages manipulation without balancing it with being responsible for the consequences.Wasn't my cup of tea. I left it down before the end because I had enough. At least I read it and made my own conclusions about the book and not just listen to others.
