The type of OTT goodness I love in my books
First of all, the OTTness in this book was just perfection. But, what sold the book to me early on was the BANTER!!! And JT does some of the best banter I’ve ever read 🤣. I was snorting and laughing like a lunatic 🤣.Emery’s (30) bookstore’s tanking after a new, huge bookstore opens up across from her small one. She’s upset and is trying to remain positive, but it’s not looking good 😏.Her rent’s doubling, she owes over a million in back taxes, her apartment building’s being condemned, and the list goes on and on. She decides to splurge and take her 5 employees to an expensive dinner as a last hurrah and a goodbye before she has to fire them ☹️.The next day at work, a handsome AF man comes in and propositions her to get married 😳. Callum (35) will give her $10 million so that she can save her business and he can keep his inheritance. His father’s disinheriting him if he doesn’t marry within a certain amount of months. He was at the same restaurant she was at the previous night when he overheard her situation. It’ll be a marriage of convenience 👀. What could possibly go wrong 😈?What I liked/loved: POSSIBLE SPOILERS—the BANTERRRRR 🤣. Did I look like a crazy person while I was driving, working, or doing chores? Oh yeah 🤣. The way Emery and Callum argue and volley back and forth was just 😮💨. I couldn’t help but highlight so much, and the amount of times I laughed was embarrassing 🤣—the OTTness. Oh LAWD. Callum has no shame, no SHAAAAME being ott 😅. He DNGAF if he seems unreasonable or unhinged 🤣 as long as he has Emery, he doesn’t care 💅—the tension 👀. Jeeeezus 🔥 so much tension. If looks could cause fires, well then the world would’ve burned down with the way Callum looks at Emery 😅. It’s 🤌🏻—the 🔥. Well, duh 👀. So many Ks in this book 😮💨. Their first kiss happens at almost 40% but then they consummate their marriage at about 50% and it’s 🥵. Callum is absolutely O B S E S S E D with Emery’s Os 😉. And the amount of S was just 🤤—the diiiiirty talk 🥵. Oh GAWD. Give me the strength to survive Callum’s mouth when he gets going 😅—TMDLAGG 🫠. 👈🏻This is me right there. Actual footage of how I reacted when he said those lines 🥵💦—praise k 🤤—he calls her Wife and Baby 😮💨🫠 (also darling, but let’s not mention those 🤣😅)—the swooniness 🥹. Um… she asks and he’ll make sure she receives. The books. The foods. The jobs. This man is doing God’s work out there by being so sweet ❤️—he’s so JP. I mean. Callum’s about to un a live his brother when he says that Emery’s seeeexy, let’s not mention the other things he’s willing to do to any man that wants her 🤣—the “revenge” scenes lol. Emery taking out Callum’s favorite car and going over curbs a little too hard was just smart revenge 🤷🏻♀️ don’t get me started on the sandwich 🤣—ASK FOR IT 🫠 SAY PLEASE 🥵💦—the connections he has 😅. I mean. It’s not everyday the cops pull you over because you won’t talk to your fiancé 😅—the rings 👀. Getting a more conservative ring so your life isn’t in danger is just 🥰—KILLIAN!!! Sigh. I loved seeing him again 🥰—the audacity 😅 it’s hard to explain this one without huge spoilers, but… oh my god… Callum’s audacity is in a league of its own 🤌🏻 👏🏻—the tattoos 🥹—his persistence 🥰. Ummm. He doesn’t give up 👏🏻. We need more men like this 😮💨What I didn’t like/wanted more of: SPOILERS—when he handcuffs her to the bed, I was very irritated at how quickly she caved to him 😐😑. She needed to make him suffer more 🤣😑😐. The sandwich was a nice touch, but not enough 🤣 (btw. Once the twists were revealed, I overlooked a lot of the things I didn’t like 🤣)—the workers looking like her 😅. Umm… so… are they getting fired now? 😅🤣. I mean. It’s kind of 🥴😬. Luckily, he never cared for any of this, but still—a longer epilogue. It’s only 2 months later ☹️—for the book to be longerOverall, I loooooved it 🤣.

I forgot who I was reading until I didn't
This book. My goodness, this book. Spoilers ahead.I'll start by saying the first bit of the book was uncomfortable to me. There were multiple tropes kinda playing out how you'd expect them to... and it was all giving me feelings of morally gray ick about the main male.Stay here. If you've read until now, don't leave yet.I stayed at first because the book was funny. The one-liners. The zingers. Legitimately laughed outloud multiple times. But then there were the cowboy boots.Warning: there are multiple cowboy boot sightings.Y'all I downloaded like10 KUs before a camping trip and was just working my way through them. I didn't look at who authored this book I had started. Until the third sighting of the cowboy boots, I didn't realize I was reading a Geissinger. A freaking Gessinger. With cowboy boots!!!Y'all... this is a Killian Black universe book!!I'm telling you it was 2 am when I shot out of bed, closed the book on my phone to see who authored it, then spent 10 minutes dancing because I realized this is a Killian Black book!!Which put the first half of the book in a completely different context. I didn't sleep that night so I could finish it. I've reread it two more times the same week.Callum, you're weird, and could have had your girl years ago, but your devotion is the thing of romance novels... which this is... but you know what I mean, right? Emery, I hope to see you both in future books. I'm so happy writing this review. I can't wait to read again and for the next book in the series and heads up for J.T.'s warning note at the end. I have concerns for all my most beloved people in this universe (of which there are many) and I can't wait to read more.If this review didn't make sense to you, go to the author's website and get her reading order. Even if someone says this is a standalone, you deserve to read all the background in the Killian Black universe. The 13, out.

so good !!
It’s a book you don’t want to miss !!!!Love at first sight, stalker, billionaire, marriage for convenience… this book has it ALLL and it’s SOOO GOOD !Callum is a handsome hot billionaire that never heard the word no, only gets what he wants, is a control freak, demanding. Emery is a 5’2 mouthful woman that says what’s she wants with no filter, don’t accept demands and do what she wants when she wants. The ping pong between this two is simply amazing, cause beside the obvious chemistry they have is soooo fun that will make you laugh a handful of times. He is force to learn to control himself to make her happy and she is no damsel which I love (I hate those books where the woman is damsel in all senses - where she can’t take care of herself or live with her nose up to demand what she thinks she deserve) there’s no head down submissive woman here and just make everything so perfect !!!Is a book that is light, is fun, it’s romantic and make you keep guessing where it’s goes or where came from since the beginning. So can’t be a better reading ! With so good smut 🥵Something that I would like too is Callum POV how good that could have have beenI just wanted to read more about the 13th Irish secret society that Callum make part of … maybe the author could go more deep in that (would be another plot to develop ) and maybe we would see our unhinged billionaire completely out of range to bring his beloved back home maybe ??? I am hoping for that in a Callum x Emery book 2 ? Or maybe in Coles book ?I can’t wait to read Coles book and more about the siblings dynamic??? The younger don’t appear in this one or his mom … I would like to see more of that ! Actually I would love for Vivi for in love for Cole or the younger brother 🤷🏻♀️Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Spicy : 🌶️🌶️🌶️Darkness: 🖤Range of emotions : 😆🥺🥵💞Ending : HEA 💓POV : 🧍🏻♀️

Amazing
A riveting impossible to put down book. A wonderful world a tableau of magnificent characters both main and sides. To complete this already perfect story two perfect main characters, together these two are pure dynamite.

Way over the top
This book is a challenge. The first two thirds made me want to pull my hair and scream. The MC has a manipulative, overbearing personality and no depth at all. The FC is as shallow as a puddle and forever caving in because his dark eye seduce her. I had to put down the book several times as I just could not stand it any more. Two stars for the last third when FC seems to come to her senses and starts putting two and two together. Two stars for bringing in Outlander, Jamie Frazer and Sam Heughan, though I wonder whether Diana Gabaldon and Sam Heughan would appreciate the cameos. Two stars for Killian Black’s appearance which clarified the whole setting.I would definitely not invest money printed copies. Kindle unlimited is just about as much as this book is worth.

Disappointed
Is this book really from the same author who wrote Midnight Valentine? I am so disappointed. Such a shallow, pathetic female lead. Every other sentence is about how her brain misfires every time the male lead is near her and how her panties are soaked. I mean, come on. And the male lead is straight up psychopathic. That's a nope.

JT has a way of always surprising the reader and this is a great surprise.
Emery is trying to keep her family bookstore afloat and is frankly drowning. When a chain opens right next door she is ready to throw in the towel, who can compete with that? Then Callum McCord swaggers into her life, offers her millions of dollars to marry him and stop him being disinherited. That will solve all her problems in one go.She is drawn somewhat reluctantly into his scheme, seeing it as the only way to save her business. As she gets to know Callum it becomes clearer that her new husband is unhinged and all is not as it seems. Callum has more secrets than the magic circle.Emery is a kickass woman who quickly learns how to manipulate her husband and his crazy obsession with her. Callum is crazy in love with his new wife but is hiding more than she could ever guess from her. I love the way my all time favourite " book boyfriend" from previous books wanders into this story. His presence quickly gives this story a whole new twist and trust me when I say there are so many great ones. This book will have you captured beginning to end. The characters are fabulous, as long as you are prepared to forgive the slightly off white morals of a few of them. Nothing I can write here can do this book full justice, you really just need to grab it and read it for yourself. You won't regret a single minute.
