Great idea when you really need an extra pair if hands
Holding up so far, Great idea when you really need an extra pair if hands and it isnt practical to do the repair at a normal soldering station. They are not something you always need but you are glad you have then when you do need them. I have not had a problem like some with the locking mechanism

Does exactly what it's suppose to do
If you are soldering wires very often, this is great. Very simple to use and it's like having someone hold everything together for you. Good purchase.

Sometimes when you buy things online, they tend to fall apart quicker. That is not the case here. These have been such a good addition that I didn’t realize I needed. It definitely makes my mechanic job much much easier.

No longer need a second person to hold wires together.
These are nice and very helpful when trying to hold two wires together to solder. I would've bought one sooner if I had known. Working on automobiles trying to solder is a pain because you need a second person to hold the two wires together. This plier works great for that.

The quality of the tempered steel used in the wire "clips" is poor.
When these arrived, they had PVC tubing slipped over the clips and the jaws. The purpose of the tubing appeared to be to prevent the spring steel from being bent in transit. The rub is that when I removed the tubing, the valleys in the spring steel clips were bent away from the valleys in the jaws, so that there was a gap a bit larger than the wires I was going to solder. The way the clips are attached to the jaws prevents one from being able to adjust the pressure the clips apply to the wires to hold them in place.Having extensive experience in making all kinds of repairs, I'll drill out the lightweight rivets and replace them with machine screws, after I tweak the clips so that they provide adequate pressure to hold even the smallest wires. Then if they get bent in the future it'll be an easy fix.
