I had been scouring the store for this kind of cheese cutter. I couldn’t find it anywhere. So I finally found this one on Amazon. It is very good and very sturdy. It is well made and heavy. Also received three spare wires. WORKS GREAT!

Heavy and seems to be pretty good quality, nice that it comes with extra wires and instructions for switching them if need be.

There's really nothing to say, nothing unique about this slicer except it works very well, easy to adjust, and seems very durable. I definitely recommend it.

First of all, this arrived quickly, so that was a good sign. The product itself is quite easy to use, and it cut our block cheese perfectly. I loved how it's adjustable so we could determine the thickness of the slices we want. Much better design than the style of cheese slicer wire we used before.

Setting the screws (in their positions) to get consistent-thickness slices is a losing proposition. If you tighten the screws "hand tight" they work loose. If you use a screwdriver, you run the risk of breaking the screw and making the tool pretty much useless.Also on the one I got, while i did get replacement wires, despite my being extremely careful and doing my best not to try to "force" anything, slicing off some very old, aged cheddar, the wire stretched and then broke the VERY FIRST TIME I USED IT. I do have access to some high-tension steel wire which I used to finish that initial task, but the feeling I got was that unlike the previous cheese slicer I got at Amazon (no longer available sadly), this one is not going to hold up well. (I'm not going to return it because it will probably be fine for light-duty cheese slices. But aged cheddar is out as are other truly hard cheeses.)Addendum (a couple of months later). Yep, all of the wires that came with it broke in the first few days. The heavier-duty wires which I used work fine, but I cannot keep the screws tight enough so that the wire doesn't slip and become loose. It cuts the hard chedders (and even the harder aged French cheeses) without a problem and I have yet even to stretch the first cutting wire. If you skip this one and buy that one instead, and you shouldn't be disappointed.This one is OK for light-duty work, but the one I recommended above should handle almost any cheese the user is likely to want to cut with it. (Note: I DO have some really old, "aged" gruyere which is still hard to cut even with that slicer [i.e., not this one] (although it does cut it evenly), but it is also hard to cut that gruyere with a really sharp kitchen knife. Go figure.

This was purchased as a small gift for someone who had ben wishing for one. He loves this item.
