An excellent overview of what the redcoated soldier did in the early 19th Century. Well written, with some pertinent quotes.

To be honest I presumed that this would be more about the ordinary soldier’s lifestyle and privations.But it’s more about the leadership of the generals and sultanates of the Empire as opposed to the British soldiers of the time.

I'm only half way through this book, but I would say it is for anyone fascinated with this period of history. I'm enjoying it emmensely.
