Carhartt Men's HV Enhanced Vis Beanie

Soft fleece and does stretch if you are worried about a traditional beanie style that fits tight. I can pull each side away from my ears about 1 1/2 inches and it comes back. The yellow is a bright yellow but not fluorescent. I think I have a big head as I take at 7 3/8 in a hat. This is not a true beanie in my opinion as it doesn't fit very tight on the head both in height and width. If you have an XL head this will fit no worries. If you like a form fitting cap this may not be it. You can roll up the bottom all the way around if you want to shorten the height. If you don't like a lot of extra material on top of your head then you won't like this. I live in NW WI and bought it as I work in law enforcement and wanted to be more visible on crash sites. Today I wore it outside with 25 degree temps and 15 mph wind and my head was warm. Lastly, there is plenty of material if you like to pull your hats way past your ears and get it as far down on the back of your neck as possible. The only drawback for me if I do that is if I tilt my head back then that pushes on the back of the cap thus pushing it up.

Fleece keeps the heat in on cold days. I have used other fleece beanies at work under my work helmet. The hem is a bit thick for use under a helmet, but its not a problem. This beanie is soft fleece and is lightweight. For me, this material does not cause irritation due to roughness normally associated with polyester material. Though this is NOT a replacement for ANSI requirements, It adds to reflective safety equipment. Others see me before my companions. I got another for my friend who works at the shipyard, he loves it, and his co-workers want one.

This hat is tops. Everything is great - warmth, comfort, softness, visability and fit. What can I say.

This Beanie is very soft and a bright yellow-lime color. I use it for running and it kept me warm this morning (28 F with 10 mph wind) without overheating. If it was much colder, I would want a warmer hat. I was disappointed to find that this hat was made in China - I had thought that the Carhartt brand and relatively high price meant it would have been made in USA. Also disappointed that the hat has no reflective materials and so it does not comply with any of the ANSI requirements. The hat is very soft and a good weight for running and so I don't plan to return it. However, next time I would look for a warmer hat with a reflective strip for less money.

Very bright. Warm. Does not squeeze my head/ears to death. I know that this is a "men's" beanie, but I needed something bright to wear when I run on the trail during hunting season. AND it was alot cheaper than similar "running" beanies. It's a little big, but I'm not surprised because it's made for men.

We walk our dog in an area where bow hunting is permitted, so walkers are required to wear orange. This hat is VERY visible - another walker told me she could see me from quite a distance in this hat. Plus it's comfy, fits well on my larger-than-average head, and is warm enough on chilly days. A bit thin for the really cold days (below freezing & wind), but that also means I don't overheat in it on warmer days. Would recommend.

Great hat, although they do seem to run a bit large on me, but I expected this. I have bought this hat in different colors, and the sizing and quality seems consistent. I think this fleece is the perfect thickness for 30f plus weather. Not too warm, and NOT ITCHY!

My co-workers and those I know that work outside swear by the Carhart name I took a chance against reviews stating it runs extremely large. The quality is good, the color just what I wanted for visibility and it was easy to get a razor and cut the large label off the front but it feels like it's been stretched out of shape on the sides or just shaped too fit a bowling ball and not a human head. The sides just won't fit against my head, allowing wind to blow in like I'm not wearing a hat at all along my forehead, ears and back of my head. When I put my goggles strap on the outside it did stop blowing off my head with high gusts of wind but I might as well have not been wearing it for wind protection around my ears. I can't return it because I got it stained with creosote from moving railroad ties all day and having to constantly adjust it and is be being dishonest if I were to say it is defective in workmanship because it is nicely made. It'll be fine as an indoor hat in the non environmentally controlled warehouse but for use on a forklift or any other possibly breezy situation I'll just have to do what I ended up doing and wear a neck gator up to my ears/neck and let it be a topper. It didn't pull over my eyes when I put my hard hat on but it flared out on the sides even more, making it, as I said before, useless for my needs. I gave it a 3 for the top notch quality and ease of removing the bling factor (for both personal and safety reasons as a brand tag can draw the eye to it and not the fact that a large machine is moving into harms way) but its shape and lack of spandex to allow it to mold to non ball shaped heads just isn't acceptable enough to give it more stars. When a gust of cold northerly wind that was no more than 20mph blew it off I knew it wasn't the right thing for me. If you've got a ball shaped head or a Kapernick shaped afro this hat might be for you but if you've got a normal or egg shaped dome like me with very short hair look elsewhere.
