Great set for the home handyman

It has a lot and it's good price for the amount of tools it has, but if the box is something you're going to move around a carry a lot, it's going to be a mess everytime you open it up and I don't like that, so I'll only take off 1 star.

This tap and die set is nice, It's well built and has many more pieces than some other brands. You never know when you'll have that stripped bolt or gummed up hole that is giving you a fit. The bits I have used so far are heavy built and super sharp. I hope this lasts me several years.

I expected all the pieces to be in their proper places. The pieces feel very ily as though they’re used. There was no shrink wrap. I don’t know what goes where. The case is slightly damaged.

I am not a professional mechanic or machinist. I am a homeowner who occasionally needs to repair a cross-threaded or otherwise damaged threaded piece of metal on yard equipment or household equipment. This set is perfect for me or anyone else like me.The taps and dies are well made, and well-marked for easy identification when you need to find the right size. They fit well into the provided case, as does the other equipment that came with the set. That other equipment includes everything that you should need to use the set, except some gloves and some oil.The smallest taps slide around a little in the case when it is stored on its edge, but that is not a big deal for me. You should be careful to open the case only then it is laid down with the top up as the case is not a "snap-in" type.

The case came dented and scuffed. I also opened it initially the first time to find all the pieces scattered. The case is not set up to actually hold things in place so organization is nearly impossible. Not happy at all with this setup.

I have been looking at getting a set on and off for years. The only hold up was finding a kit that had both metric and SAE without having to spend a lot of money. If this sounds like you too, you don't need to look any further because THIS is the set right here!It has a good variety of taps and dies for both metric and SAE. Each piece is stamped with the size instead of painted/laser etched which can wear over time. Every piece has a place designated for it so there is no guess work on where it goes or what is missing.Like others had already stated, store it flat and carry it flat or some pieces WILL get loose and you will need to sort them again. A piece of foam to keep them in place would be a huge improvement. That is the reason for the one star deduction.Overall, happy I found this set as it will make a nice addition to my arsenal. I now have the ability to clean up rusty threads and maintain things properly. No more excuses, time to get things done!

This tap and die set is a great tool set to have in the garage for anyone who has equipment at home that need repairs. It’s great to make some repairs on cars, trucks, yard equipment and more. It has all the sizes you’ll need and they are stamped with standard and metric sizes so it’s quick and easy to find the one you need. The only negative thing about this set is the case it comes in as many pieces fell out the first time I opened the case. It seems as if the parts don’t quite fit and seem a little loose so I recommend laying it down right side up before opening it up. For those machinist, wood workers, handymen, and do it yourself types, this is a good set to own.
