I’m only now buying my second one after more than two decades of use. My friend gifted it to me, and it served another 11 years the entirety my second Border Collie life. Then it sat for two years in between dogs unused but still functioned perfectly when needed. Then it went on to work another six years essentially training my third Border Collie. I bought this two years ago, used it for about a week, corrected the problem I was having, and put it away. Two years later, same dog regressed back to "I can do whatever / go where I want when I want."I opened up the Dogtra kit and I was expecting to find dead / damaged batteries but instead all three components had held their charge and were fully functional. Without charging them, I used the system for an hour and was still reading good battery life - AMAZING.If that's not impressive enough, the other day she had the collar on while I was working outside. I noticed she was gone, paged her, and five minutes later she showed up wet from the creek 1/2 mile away.I have never needed to use the shock features - just the Pager (vibration).

First of all it comes in a hard plastic case for storing when not in use.I just started with it, but the trainer is guiding me and my fur baby has responded very well to it. The ease of setup and the hands free button really is an added bonus to this. I really like how there are 4 different ways to gain attention and you can lock your settings in.

Get the boost function, timing is everything in dog training. Ive had this collar for a month and it’s perfect. The lock feature is the only one that I don't use ever because I'm constantly making small adjustments to the stim. Depending on distractions, excitement etc. With proper conditioning and training my husky mix went from highly reactive around other dogs to calm and confident off leash even around highly aroused dogs. This collar is heavy, if your dog is small get something less heavy.

We have always trained our dogs with a Dogtra 1900 system. We recently adopted a GSP rescue and needed to add a single E-Collar and there was no question as to the brand to buy. We have a double, older 1900 system, which we use for our other 2 GSP’s.I appreciate the “hands free” option. These old hands aren’t what they used to be so wearing the hands free square around my palm makes it easy and gives me more freedom to give treats along with pets and praise. Dogtra has been a reliable tool in training our dogs throughout the years.

My dog is a changed man from this. He is a 95-100lb XL American Bully who has never had any respect while walking on the leash. I’ve been the only person able to leash walk him since he was 10 months old, until last week. I have not had to “stimulate” him once with this device yet, as the buzz on the pager is so powerful it snaps him back to reality whenever he decides he’s the one guiding our walk. Highly recommend this e collar for bully owners along with the Bullyproof harness and leash from SummitHound.

We've had this collar for about 3 months and immediately found out the battery life is horrible. At most we can get 2 days out of the collar and maybe 3 days out of the remote. The collar is an absolute brick, you would think there was enough battery in there to last a month. Contrast this with the much cheaper alternatives on the market that we could go weeks at a time between charges. We bought this collar for the quality and have been disappointed. Sure, its a good collar and hasn't ever had a misfire or no-fire, but what good is that when the battery is dead? We are selling this collar on the used marketplace and going back to the $60 collars.

Sometimes you don’t get a feel for a company or product until you have a problem. I purchased a different softer product first and it did not live up to my expectations. I contacted dogtra customer service and they were amazing. They actually care about their products and customers. I would buy nothing but a dogtra product after this customer service experience. This is quite the contrast to Amazon as I initially contacted Amazon because the price dropped and there was no way to get a refund for the difference without returning the product.
