VOLUME 1: THE SOUND OF MERCURY RISING. COMPILED WITH LOVE BY DJ HARVEY

Bought this after seeing DJ H at Pikes this summer - what a guy, if anyone enjoys one of his nights have as much as him they’ll have a great night, he beams from ear to ear through his entire set. The track list is well thought out and thoroughly enjoyable.

Having visited pikes this summer, I would say this is a true taste of what to expect from the mercury rising night .Only not getting 5 stars as I prefer a mixed compilation

I was so glad to find this on Amazon. DJ Harvey is a legend and his mixes are hard to locate in any format. One reviewer had said that it was not his best work but I am more than satisfied. I understand the comment as DJ Harvey is known for his leftfield, down, and dirty tracks. This is a big room mix that he did for his Pike's residency in Ibiza. Nonetheless, there are some great tracks on here for enthusiasts. Spanish Boogie, by Van Mccoy of Do the Hustle fame is a genuine find. The horns are incredibly sharp and crisp on that track. One for Kenny, by the Idjut boys is techno at its down and dirtiest. Gatto Fritto by Invisible College is a great warm up track. Part organic and part techno, it simmers, and eventually builds to a fullscale melodic dancefloor experience. Good stuff.
