If you need to anchor something with a bolt in a blind hole in solid material or sheet metal, these work well, just deburr the hole.

Total crap! Every single threaded piece broke free and did not compact the rubber behind the drilled hole at all! Do not waste your money!

Too short for my kayak-pulled out
They pulled out right away. (And yes, I have used well nuts before on kayaks and they worked just fine). The plastic on my Lifetime poly kayak is about 1/4” thick where I tried to install these. These werent long enough to expand on the far side of the hole, so they didn’t grab. Would be fine on thinner kayak material or in a blind hole
