I paid nearly $300 for this hair dryer expecting premium quality and durability. Unfortunately, after only three months, it started having a delay when turning on — it would take about five seconds to start. Soon after, it stopped heating properly.In less than six months, the dryer completely stopped working.When I contacted customer service to file a warranty claim, I was told that the filter showed “lack of maintenance,” which made the product ineligible for warranty coverage — even though the dryer was practically new and used under normal conditions. For such an expensive product, this explanation felt unreasonable and disappointing.I expected much better reliability and support at this price point. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product.

I am impressed. I have been holding a blow dryer in my hand for 25 years - and this is a really nice dryer. I have no experience with any other top of the line dryer - but I splurged on this one when it was on a great sale , in Mother’s Day … and I have no regrets. I watch as this dryer turns the hair smooth and shiny faster than I have ever dried anyone’s hair before. I love the locking button- you can lock it on med heat / high air flow and not accidentally turn it to fire mode.It’s incredibly light weight and easy to have a conversation over while blowing out the hair doo!

Only good for 1 year?!? So disappointed. I love the hair dryer, but it stopped heating this week. Only cold air. I couldn't remember how old it was so I ordered another only to see in my Amazon history that I ordered the first one exactly 1 year ago. I've had $40 hair dryers that lasted for years, but this one is much more expensive and crashed in 12 months. What a disappointment.

My hairdryer broke (a different brand ) and I bought a cheap one and really wasn’t happy with it. It wasn’t forceful enough, like the one that broke. Went in to get a haircut at my usual place and my hairdresser had this hairdryer. It dried my short hair in a flash. Plus it was very powerful. It had all the features I wanted: cool shot, cool air, hot air and plus I couldn’t believe how light weight it was! This is the most expensive hairdryer I’ve ever owned but I love it. It’s very slim too so will fit in the suitcase better too!

Learned about this hair drier from my salon. It’s outstanding… super quiet, effective and has a nice feature for self-cleaning its air inlet. While it’s pricey, the features and performance are worth it to me.

This is y second BioIonic dryer. This one is great for the ability to change temperatures and 'lock in' a temperature. This one doesn't blow air as forcefully as the other one. Nice small size for travel.

Very nice hair dryer. I only use the low settings but still very powerful.

Love the Smart X dryer. I had the Dyson and was never a real fan. This however, is a game changer! Sleek, quiet, and powerful! Will get this one over and over again!

I’m updating my review after speaking with the company. I had purchased this in April 2025 and it stopped working within a few months. I submitted a warrantee claim and sent the dryer to bioionic in the U.S. (this cost me $62 through fedex). They are sending me a replacement dryer, which I am happy about since it’s quite expensive. Apparently the dryer went into protection mode due to not being clean enough, even though we thought we were cleaning it enough. It seems to need more cleanings than a typical dryer. So if you buy one, make sure you clean it quite often.
