A good contender with lots of potential
Gel blasting is one of those niche things that's slowly starting to build up steam as more and more people begin to realize that these aren't the simple, rinky dink child's toys that they used to be. The Faction series is a good step in the right direction in getting people more invested in the hobby. Not only does Havok meet the baseline for entry level competitive gel ball primaries, but the app functionality and beacon system have a LOT of potential to expand and make the hobby worthwhile. Havok itself has a good fire rate, great ammo capacity and decent enough range/projectile speed to keep up with other, similarly priced blasters, like Splatterball SRB1200 or the CosmoxToys Sirius, but also has a built in UV tracer light, allowing you to utilize Glow in the dark ammo without needing to invest into a potentially expensive tracer unit and then modify the blaster to use it. That alone makes it worth it's pricetag, but the included beacon and it's supporting app give it added functionality that has the potential to improve later on. While it's disappointing that the app is currently still in development and all but one gamemode is locked, so long as they deliver on their promise it shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially if they continue to release supported blasters/equipment after the deadline. The only drawback is many people have already invested in gel blasters, some of which being incredibly powerful or expensive. Having to buy a blaster just to use the app can feel redundant if you already have something similar lying around. This is a great first blaster if you're looking for a reliable primary and dont want to also have to buy a tracer unit for glowing gel rounds. My only complaint is it's accuracy falls off rather quickly, with the spread becoming apparent in as few as a couple meters out the barrel. Gel guns aren't known for their accuracy, but even knowing that the spread is notably higher. Thankfully, the massive magazine capacity will allow you to more than compensate. Use 3rd party gels for best results.

Faction Havoc gel blaster is a blast to play with friends.
I bought the Faction havoc gel blaster rifle and it has been a lot of fun to shoot. This is my first time using a gel blaster and I have been impressed with the quality of the gun and the gel ammo. The rifle is pretty powerful and you can hit targets from far away. I also really like how you can connect your gel blaster to the faction app. With the app you can customize the gel blaster by changing the color of the LED lights which is pretty cool. Through the app you can also connect the beacon which allows you to do target practice. It took me a couple tries to connect the beacon to the app but once I did it worked pretty well. I briefly tried out the other games on the app with my friends and it was cool how you could see where your teammates are on the map. Overall I would recommend that you and all of your friends get the faction Havoc gel blaster!

Great blaster but has some downsides (9/10)
Lets start out with the good: - great build quality, made out of solid durable plastic - everything works reliably, I have put around 50000 rounds through it and so far its still going strong. - m1750 rounds magazine capacity is great - fire rate and FPS claims are accurate, with the FPS going above the 250 FPS average claimed on the box. Now onto the bad: - mediocre accuracy, the groupings on this blaster are not the greatest though the higher FPS makes up for this. You should be able to hit a human sized target from around 85 feet away accurately with around 1.5 - 2 feet of bullet drop. Anything past that would require you to lead your shots significantly. - The lights. there is an app which allows you to turn off the UAV light located around the magazine intake. That being said all other lights around the barrel and the power button cannot be turned off. This means that if you want to play with this thing at night or in low light conditions you would need to block out the light physically or else your position would get exposed. I did this by covering the lights around the barrel and the power button with several layers of duct tape, there is definitely a more elegant way of doing this probably involving multiple coats of paint being painted over the lights but I was too impatient to go through that process so duct tape did a great job. - There is a picatinny-ish rail at the top of the blaster but it doesn't even work for all picatinny attachments. Some of the picatinny attachments work while some of them required me to drill holes on the top rail to attach some attachments. Overall this isn't really a huge issue for most, but for those wanting to add on attachments such as flashlights, lasers, or sights, then you might encounter issues with mounting. These issues could easily be solved by some simple modifications. But i am just wondering why not include actual picatinny rails with the correct geometry instead of a fake one, it just doesnt make sense.

Quality build and fun to use
The Blaster works very well. The gel beads are fun to fire and explode on impact, which doesn’t leave much to clean up, making playing with it nice because there isn’t anything left to clean up afterwards. It feels well made, all of the pieces slot together perfectly and the blaster has a good weight to it, which makes it feel less like a toy I appreciate the various settings available to change between, so you can shoot one, three or continuously. The clip holds a lot of beads so you don’t have to worry about running out very fast. I held down the trigger and fired continuously for a minute and still had more than half of the clip available There were a few issues with connecting to the app, and once it got stuck in continuous fire mode, which I fixed by turning it off and on again Overall I really enjoyed playing with it and look forward to going out and playing with my friends together I am also interested to see if they end up adding all of the extra game modes that are promised in the app

Disappointed. Faulty battery 😭
I had purchased this for my son as a Christmas present and when I found out about the issue it was past the point of returning. From my son: The rifle seemingly worked well for 3 months until the battery stopped holding a charge. It was then that I realized that the gun never actually indicated when it was fully charged in the first place. The box said that it could get off 9000 shots per charge but I never once got close to 3000. I really wanted to like the gun but once my friend told me that his cousin’s gun stopped working early on as well, I figured it was only a matter of time.

a blast!
just got it week ago, tried it out today... this thing is FUN! built sturdy, huge ammo capacity, easy to use. instructions not 100% so heres how, took a few hours to fully charge the gun so i soaked the gel beads during charging time.. although i soaked them a little longer (they say 4 to 6 hours).. i did 5 hours they were perfectly fine. once the gun is charged you need to download the app, turn the gun on and connect to "unlock" the gun.. only takes a cpl minutes and super easy. once unlocked, youre ready to go..does have a cheap picatinney style rail on top and bottom... not sure exactly what will work but i can still try. a word on firepower.. has saftey, semi, 3 shot burts and full auto.. (selector not exactly lined up but easy to figure out), as said before, huge ammo capacity, not excarly sure how fast but pretty fast rate of fire, when 1st starting, you will have to fire the gun a few times for beads to feed up into the gun. had no jams, tried in my basement and was fairly accurate and were hitting hard... so use eye protection. when empty, you will need to turn the gun upside down to get any remaining beads to feed. dont leave beads in mag when not using and dbl check to make sure mag and gun are clear as the beads can dry up and cause jamming. sights are... eh... ok, they do the job. came with a reactive target but i didnt try it yet and there are a few things on the app as well. gun fired flawlessly through all 3 firing modes on a full mag. i read some say it jams and breaks beads, my guess is they werent soaked long enough or too long, just follow the directions, give them 4 to 5 hours and they will be fine. all in all, is worth every penny... may even buy a second one!

Great gun with lots of features
The rifles are well built and look great. There's a good weight to the gun and construction makes for a real study feel. The magazine resting on the bottom side of the gun looks sleek and way better than the top loaded guns. This also clears up the sights instead of having a big reservoir blocking your sight. The gun comes with 3 firing modes; single, 3 round burst, and automatic/continuous shots. The switch controlling the modes don't quite line up with the icons on the gun, but isn't a big deal. The range on the gun before the accuracy starts to fall off is around 30 ft. Shots from the rifles do hurt more than the little brother pistol version. The gun will have issues clearing the mag completely. Once done you will have to empty the mag so the remaining gel beads don't dry up and jam the mag. There's a small release button at the top of the mag you press to release the preloaded gel beads. The app is a great concept but could use some work with the chat features. Target shooting and team elimination matches are fun, looking forward to additional modes releasing in the future.

Battery corrosion
Got this blaster about a year ago and it was fun and worked. The best thing this had was a high psi and shot really well with a huge mag. The overall quality was great but I come back to it the next summer and the motor that’s on the bottom of the mag that makes the beads go up the hopper is corroded. was really upset that this thing doesn’t work anymore and now I have to find a replacement mag or just buy a new gun altogether I totally recommend it but if you’re looking for a long-term gun that will last forever this isn’t the right one.
