IMPORTANT Information!/VRETTI HP2
In most cases, I try to use a product for several weeks or longer, if necessary, to become familiar with it, particularly in the context of its intended application, BEFORE forming an opinion and writing a review. The benefits of this are pretty obvious, I think, but hopefully this results in a more informed, honest assessment/opinion resulting in information, USEFUL information, that is helpful to others in making a more informed decision about purchasing either the one I'm writing about or another. That said, I have had this VRETTI HP2 Label Printer for just two days (make that THREE days now) but have spent more time with it than I should have had to, trying to get it to print. Quite by accident, I discovered, and this is important information for anyone who has already either purchased or is considering buying this printer and is why I am writing this review after having it for just a few days, If this printer does NOT print out-of-the-box, it could be that you received one, as I did, FROM THE FACTORY, with the roll of labels "pre-installed" BACKWARDS! Who knew? I sure didn't!I've never used a thermal label printer before so I had no idea that the problem I was having was due to the incorrect installation of the roll of labels. By every appearance, this product came directly from the factory in a factory box, etc. The only reason that I finally figued it out was I noticed something in one of the photos in a review someone had posted on Amazon and something looked different and, VOILA, that was it.Let me just say that after that, it printed, but not accurately, The APP for using the VRETTI HP2 thermal printer is one of the worst APPS I've ever used with a product that, otherwise, appears sound seems to work well - FINALLY! They really need to develop a new APP for this printer WITH CLEAR AND EASY INSTRUCTIONS to follow. I'm printing now, with good results.. That said, due to the label "issue" and the poor APP, I can only give this printer THREE STARS.

Easy to setup, but the app is not good
This feels like a device that was made for the Asia market, but was expanded to all in a hurry. The printer itself isn't anything complex, just charge it up, drop the labels in, and it is ready to go. The app installed on my phone just fine, but it is massively confusing to use and most of the "pre-made" labels don't match the 15mmx40mm labels that came in the printer. And, surprisingly enough, it doesn't tell you where you can go get more labels. The help that is online in the app is a joke - the tutorials don't exist and there is literally one help topic in there. When you use the app it wants you to log in and claims once you enter your phone number in, it will log you in. Other than the MAJOR issue I have of entering my phone number into an app, it doesn't actually work. It wants a confirmation code that you can't request because you aren't registered, and you can' t register because it never gets that far. I tried it many ways and pretty much gave up.If you take a pre-made label and edit it, you can actually create something custom and, assuming you picked a design small enough to fit on the label, it will print. It prints typical thermo images of black and white, but would suffice if you were labeling things. The labels that come with the printer are light duty, but do adhere to most dry/clean surfaces I tried them on. I can't actually save any custom label because of the inability to log into the app, but it does work.I'm not sure this would be your go-to in any business environment, but it will do fine if all you are doing is labeling items around your house.

It’s ok, but could be better
I’ve tried about 4 of these small, BT label printers recently, and here’s what I can say about this one:1) The print quality is not that great. Text is blotchy without clear edges and images are very low resolution and black and white only.2) I’m not a fan of the pre-sized labels that it comes with, I much prefer continuous labels so that you don’t have to worry about trimming down what you want on the label. It has a serrated blade to tear the labels, so it’s clearly only designed for pre-sized labels as that will leave a jagged edge on continuous label stock.3) The app is not easy to use. In concept, it’s not that complicated, but little things like selecting a text block on the label to edit it is an exercise in frustration. I also get constant warning about a poor network connection. I think this is because I do geo-blocking for traffic to certain countries, one of which is China. So I can only assume that it’s phoning home to look for content or something for the app. At least I didn’t have to create an account in order to print a label. The positives:1) It’s small and lightweight and pairs easily with the app.2) No account needed to use the app or print a label.3) You can add images to labels easily (they just are printed in low quality).4) The small instruction booklet is easy to read (the app is “Xeasy Label” - note the space)So overall, I give this 3 stars mostly because of the issues with the app and the lack of a clean cutter to enable use of continuous labels like other models have.Update - These are the URLs that the app is trying to connect to and my firewall is blocking.utoken[.]umeng[.]comios[.]bugly[.]qq[.]comulogs[.]umeng[.]comapi[.]xplable[.]com

App is a little fussy
I had some trouble figuring out the app, and a lot of the stickers got cut off. Once I figured out the size of the stickers I was using it's a pretty cool label maker. They're a lot cuter than a traditional label maker and are definitely designed to be extra decorative. Probably great for a stationary hound!
