I only gave it 4 stars because it does what it's supposed to do, this is the cheapest VGA/HDMI adapter on Amazon (at least at the time I purchased it), and we can't expect the quality of materials of an expensive one.If your monitor (or whatever device you need the adapter for) barely has enough space to accommodate the adapter with the HDMI plugged in, don't try to force the adapter to fit because it will start to split in two halves. If you don't have an issue with space to accommodate the adapter with the HDMI plugged in and there will be no physical pressure on this device, this adapter will work fine.

I was a bit disappointed with this item. In short, I didn't like whatever conversion algorithm they used. What I got was horizontal lines thorough the picture. Ugly and very annoying. It worked, and for a movie picture not too bad, but for converting menus on a Amazon Fire Stick to VGA, it wasn't that great.

I guess you get what you pay for. Extremely bad design concerning the mounting screws, it's impossible to get a slotted screw driver in there to tighten it and nearly impossible to thumb tighten them. Also just after I wrote this review the casing came apart as I was trying to tighten the screws, I'm going to have to wrap it with a piece of electrical tape to keep it from coming apart. Now it's a one star rating.

I had bought this to hook my amazon fire stick up to my projector... and it cut off the sides of the picture, ruining the movie! Not even worth using at that point..

Very effective, and durable, low profile. Been used in many ways already so far. Do the price it’s defiantly 5 star.

I was a little skeptical at first because its not often that you find these types of adapters. However it works good and as it was described. little hard to get to the screws to hold it in place.
