But I have a picky mouse! *by P***W on October 30, 2025* These are nice, easy to use, self-contained bait stations, similar to ones I've used in the past. My prior stations allowed easy replacement of the bait, so I have a number of d-Con baits still in a sealed envelope. I haven't seen or heard a mouse in a number of years, until just recently, when I found some wrapped bread on the counter had been eaten. Also, there were a few tell-tale mouse pellets (turds if you will) on the counter. The mouse pellets look like small, dried black ants. I was surprised to see this because I leave some d-Con in my basement year round to take care of any stray mice that find their way in. Well, this mouse must be smarter than the average mouse. In addition to the new bait stations, I've left open baits in a couple of strategic locations, including on the kitchen counter where the bread had been eaten. This mouse hasn't touched the baits. I even layered a little peanut butter on one of the baits - still no interest by this mouse. Yet, I still find a few tell-tale mouse pellets. Well, that's disappointing. So I've resorted to buying a different type of trap - a Flip N Slide bucket lid.
