The versatility of this adventure light is off the charts.It transforms into several forms:- compact- tripod- extended (variable short to quite long)- magnetically attached (up, sideways, upside-down)Multiplied by several light modes:- ambient (gorgeous)- area light up- area light down- directional-- all of which can be varied anywhere from warm to cool lighting temperatures (see pics) and 3 brightness levels. You can even stake it down so it stays put (stakes included!) There are plenty of holes if you'd like to go the lanyard route (not included).Oh, and it's a USB-C battery pack that can charge your devices. Or take a charge via the same port. And it's water resistant. On top of all that, it's very well-made and delightful to use.... I am impressed!Things I'd like to see:- more battery (10,000 mAh is very good but gadget-lovers are greedy)- more of a positive snap to the tripod legs when extended; they don't sag, but it could have a better locking feel- a slim carrying case; room enough for just the light and maybe a cableI'd rate this 6 stars simply because of how unexpected it is, on top of the all-around awesomeness. I had never heard of this company before.... I sure have now!

Bought these for camping, they are really nice and bright. Battery was still showing 75% after a week under my use case (Boy Scout Summer Camp, so it was in my tent and used during the evenings and early mornings)Not - this thing is heavy. Not for backpacking.

This type of lantern design is now copied all over Amazon, so while I can't claim this brand's superiority over the other clones, I will say it's a well designed piece of kit which explains why it's become ubiquitous.I customized mine with some orange reflective foil tape and luminescent gaffer's tape to give it an extra oomph and like how the results turned out.For $70 it's an expensive item, but I live in and have gone to work in areas with power outages, and while those small solar/hand crank LED inflatable/expandable ones have a place in my home and emergency backpack, they're limited. Also, you're boned if you have nothing to hang them up with.This lantern solves a lot of the problems in that the telescopic head can illuminate a far greater surface are if need be, or be downsized to below eye level should you want to read or play cards at night without getting blinded.The batteries are in the legs, so they're already quite heavy enough to provide stability without needing the tent pegs the lamp comes with. Should it be so windy you would need them alas, there is no place to store them in the lamb's design. You would have to use a pair of rubber bands to keep them attached to the lamp for transport.The light is bright at all three levels, pulled around a three day weekend outage on the second brightest level with power to spare. Did not try to charge my phone as the lamp doesn't come with an outgoing charging cable. While the upper circular part of the base where it meets the holed part of the lamp is hollow, there is no receptacle for the included charging cable or a phone charging cable. This seems like a missed opportunity.Too heavy for backpacking long distances or through hikes, perfect for weekend excursions, car camping and picnics. It's perfect to keep in the car, the SOS alert feature is no slouch and once extended outwards the bottom magnets on the legs hold sturdily to anything metal like cars, fridges, table tops, etc.Doesn't get overly hot even on highest brightness, and while others have reported instances where their lamps would have 'flickering' I haven't experienced it with mine, must have got one with more solid solder.While the upper part of the lamp is translucent to allow in the light for ambient effect through the holes in the side, the bottom is not. Thus when the legs are extended the lower base does not emit light, which seems a wasted opportunity.Bonus points: The legs can be extended by 'flipping' the lamp in the air like a yo-yo almost, using centrifugal force to open the legs and then catching the lamp.Pulling the lamp from the lower base retracts the legs, even from metal. Avoid picking it up by the tilting head if possible.The tilting head is great, using this as an extendable flashlight is cool, and with one of them pointed at the ceiling you would only need one more pointing down to fully 'light' up a fairly large room.Using two of these for a zoom meeting would probably be a lot easier on the eyes than a ring light, and serve far more uses for around the same price.Adjustable color temperature is nice, especially when you want a 'quieter' light in the tent at night. Haven't tried out the waterproofing.Like I said, not cheap. But I'll definitely buy another one or two down the road. I'm removing a star for the lack of charging cable, and lack of storage for the charging cable(s) and included tent pegs and the blocked light at the base. It's such a well made item to seem an almost instant classic design, should those minor quibbles be addressed in future versions it would be a five star winner.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this camping light to use as an extra light source when we sit outside at night and for my husband to use in the garage and his workroom in the basement. This thing is AWESOME! It's light & compact, but sturdy and well-built. The light at full height is so bright and covers such a wide area, and I love that it can also serve as ambient lighting just by lowering the light into its base. It's easy to charge and also serves as a battery source if you need to charge your phone - make sure to get a USB-C cord, though. It even comes with stakes so you that you can secure it into the ground. We will definitely be taking this with us on camping trips and vacations!

Stable, bright, adjustable color, long-lasting battery. Don’t forget to grab a case for it as well. No complaints.

I bought one of these lights with the specific intent on using this at the camp table and in our tent.At the camp table it provided the perfect light amount and was not too bright as to annoy other campsites in close proximity. So we were able to prepare food, clean up then have cocktails, all with different brightness settings.The light itself telescopes up or down depending on what your needs are which was really useful and the light disk that holds the LEDs articulate from horizontal to vertical to direct light in a particular direction if neededThe battery lasted two nights worth of camping but I suspect it could go longer. I just didn't get a chance to test that.The footprint of the light is pretty small, I would say about 6" in diameter so it doesn't take up a bunch of table space when deployed. When stored away it all collapses into a small cylinder that measures approx 10" X 3".While this doesn't take the place of a traditional camping lantern it did a perfect job for what i needed it for.

Was looking for a portable all around lamp/torch for 1-2 night camping or fishing and black outs at home. This is perfect and compact. Love how it has holes for stakes it’s perfect for all terrain.It also has a usb 3 charging port - which is a great bonus.The light pivots and it’s well lit. Definitely a keeper 5/5
