Adds a cushioned feel and levels an uneven floor
I’m renovating a mobile office trailer into a posh chicken coop “Cluckingham Palace” and re-did the floor using this as an underlay. I had to youtoobz how to install underlay since I wasn’t sure if the shiney or the matte side was up since I’m not a professional builder. I did matte side up. The original floor was uneven with missing tiles and this helped to even out the floor so that the new linoleum would lay flat and not get ridges or air bubbles underneath. I really like how cushy the floor feels it’s almost a little squishy like carpet instead of hard like tile.

Worth it
It's suitable for the ground or first floor as it prevents your room from moisture. However, I've never tried it on the second floor, so I have no idea whether it might prevent squeaking there.

I knew this would be thin. I just need it for an underlay beneath peel and stick tile. If i ever get that.
