Bluetooth receiver
This Bluetooth receiver works well when connected to my Panasonic home cinema system. I use it to stream music from my phone and it uses the AAC codec. It does have other codecs built in if your transmitter can use aptx or aptHD. Comes with an RCA to 3.5mm jack cable.

It works well but some niggles.
Well, I thought this was WiFi but it's not, which means whilst listening to music full blast, anything else playing on your phone comes through the speakers. So I'm not going to complain about that, it was my bad - but stating for others who might think the same as me.This replaced a Chromecast that was using an Amazon HDMI Audio splitter - basically took the audio from the Chromecast and sent it to the AMP.Now bearing in mind my plug was running a Chromecast and Splitter it seemed it wasn't enough to correctly power it.. or something was loose, either way putting another plug on seemed to work. The device has a strong, bright LED ring around the top, which is really, really annoying, cannot be changed and cannot be disabled. The buttons on the device, regardless of what support tells you are just soft buttons to control the phones volume, like almost everything else Bluetooth.I have a very powerful old AMP a TEAC A-610, this is 120wpc at 4 ohms and 90woc at 8 ohms. The Chromecast was crazy loud at 25%, this thing needs 50%, support were unhelpful, though my Wharfdale Vardus and Amp was the problem. One annoying really annoying niggle is my phone complains I've been wearing Bluetooth headphones for too long and turns the volume down more too.Tried on my phone and 2 tablets and the volume issue is still there.. maybe the Chromecast or splitter was boosting the connection, I don't know.Either way, it works.. was it worth buying for me? No I think using the old Chromecast system would have been better, but it does mean 1 less thing to power. I'll see how I get on.This would be a 5 star if there was some sort of software to control the BT device (like ankers soundcore app) but there's not, and support was bad so I've knocked 1 star off.The devices blue light is really annoying, but luckily it fits perfectly behind my. TVs wall bracket (with somes cable ties help) and I don't see it.If you're after something cheap and cheerful, it works.

A great way to link/stream your phone to older equipment
It works a treat to link my Ruark R4i non-bluetooth amp/CD/DAB player to music apps on my phone. It comes with the leads you need to go via a single input source (or you can use a phono input with your own phono to phono lead). It now has its own volume control, thus overcoming a lot of the older reviews that complain about very low output level. So no problem to recommenced wholeheartedly.

Great sound, good range
I got the 'basic' unit with two phono sockets - ideal for plugging into my home speaker system. Very easy to set up and first impressions are that the sound is good compared to a very old bluetooth receiver that was in place before. Range is also much improved with no signal interruption if iPhone is in a different room. The spec. claims that you can pair two devices which will be very useful (although I have not tried this yet). As others have mentioned, you will need to supply your own 5 volt usb plug. The '3D sound' is an interesting option for increasing apparent loudness and sound spread.

Mediocre sound quality, low output signal
20/08/24 update.I've had direct contact from the company and they have been brilliant in seeking feedback and they have offered a full refund upon return of this item. I am going to keep it as it serves a purpose albeit my disappointment with the sound quality. If I find a solution like for instance a pre amp solution I'll add a further update. They've informed me that they have passed my feed back to their R and D dept.Very refreshing to see that they value their customers and so when they do make an update to this product I'm very likely to try it.My opinions of the sound quality haven't changed but I'm happy with the response I've had which I never expected to be honest. Credit where it's due guys.I've had this unit which I use with a Bose Wave speaker for a couple of months now.I have a high Res player built into my phone that I stream from.I expected this device to be considerably better than it is. The sound quality is a bit flat. It's mediocre at best. The output is low and it seems like it could do with a pre amp to boost the signal. I have to turn up the volume on the Bose to around 70% to get any decent out put.Connection by Bluetooth is quick and easy and it has allowed me to be able to bring some extra usability to the Bose Wave. But I am somewhat disappointed with the performance overall. It's not very dynamic. When I use any of my high Res audio earbuds or headphones with my phone the sound quality is brilliant. The separation is great, the clarity, base everything is great. So its not my phone. Other inputs to the Bose sound great by the 3.5mm input which I'm using from this device to the Bose Wave. It's just this device that's poor. As I said, I believe it's down to the input signal being low. So I thought about sending this device back to Amazon to be fair. I've kept it only for the convenience of using the Bose like a Bluetooth speaker but I am on the lookout for something better. I'm afraid I can't recommend this product.
