My locking mechanism broke on my hotpoint fdl8640 washer dryer and found this item on amazon to be the same price as on the hotpoint website, so with amazon's quick delivery, of course made sense. It took less than 60 seconds to fit it and reapply the drum coil and I now have a working machine again ✌️

Very easy to fit (even for a novice like myself)
I'm useless when it comes to DIY, so replacing the door lock on a washing machine was fairly daunting - but it was very straight forward (after watching a couple of how-to videos on YouTube, best one I found was by Ransom Spares). Took me 10mins, it's very straight forward and I'd encourage anyone with a F06 error to give this a go before you call anyone out or buy a new machine. The part itself is genuine & Amazon were great with the next day delivery.
