The sun will bake it. Try to put it in shade.
I left it out in the sun and the ball cracked, it had several cracks so I ordered another one, but it is a very good item!!!

Great Mount!
Bought and returned a Scotty mount because it lacked the mobility I needed. Bought this one and it turned out way better at a quarter of the cost. Would definitely buy again if I need another mount.

Fishfinder mount
Nice fishfinder mount but does not fit humminbird helix 5. Seller took care of me for that. Would also recommend a safety cable incase fish finder falls off.

Fits great with the Helix 9
I had been in the market for a mount just like this one, and when I saw the price point of this item, I could not say no. So far, it seems to clamp nice and tight. I have a Helix 9 mounted on it, and it's holding it in any direction that I have tried. Seems to be made with some pretty tough material and adjusts very easily

I wouldn’t mount anything bigger then a Helix 7. I had my Helix 9 mounted to it and man did this thing fail it I was driving across the water.

Great mount. Holes didn't line up with my Helix 5 so I had to drill a couple new ones but not a big deal. Works great.

Base comes loose, otherwise decent value
It serves the purpose for my 9 inch fishfinder. The only issue I’ve had: the ball connector thing comes loose often. When I set this up for my boat, the base wants to rotate. When I set it up for Ice Fishing (same base and fish finder) it wants to rotate and won’t stay upright. I’ll be buying another one so I don’t have to flip flop them between setups, but I will be using locktite to make sure it doesn’t come loose again.

Very Cheap Construction
First time out on my boat with the unit, the swivel at the base is stripped and now the unit is useless, it claims to have a 90 days limited lifetime warranty, but nobody has responded to help me out. Water was calm on a 14 foot aluminum fishing boat - certainly not a test for any product that is built well. I guess RAM products cost a lot more for a reason, AVOID this product.
