Great read. Loved the twist. Couldn't put it down. Love all her books so far. I have read 7 of her books in 2 weeks!

I really like the writers technic of writing. The characters are well dev eloped and personalized. The story line was great. I think everyone could share a bit of every character in the story. Toward the end it got just a bit wordy. Overall another great book.

3.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ This one started off a bit slow for me, and it took some time to really get into the story. The buildup felt a little repetitive at first, and I wasn’t immediately pulled in. However, once the plot started to move, it did pick up a decent pace and became easier to stay engaged. Overall, it wasn’t the most gripping or intense thriller I’ve read, and it didn’t have that “can’t stop listening” feeling that some of Freida McFadden’s other books have. That said, it was still entertaining enough to keep me going, especially once things started unfolding. The twists were there, but they didn’t hit as hard or feel as surprising as I expected. I listened to this as an audiobook, and I have to say the narrator did a really good job bringing the characters to life. Unfortunately, I’ve been noticing a pattern with the production quality in some of this author’s audiobooks. While the narration itself was strong, the overall editing felt a bit off. Some transitions didn’t blend smoothly, and it made the experience feel less polished compared to other well-produced audiobooks. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it was noticeable. The characters were interesting enough, though not particularly memorable, and the story felt more like a quick, easy listen rather than something that really sticks with you afterward. It’s the kind of book that keeps you mildly curious about what’s going to happen next, but without a strong emotional or suspenseful payoff. Definitely not one of Freida McFadden’s strongest works, but still a decent distraction when you’re in the mood for something light, easy, and relatively entertaining without expecting too much depth.

I am a huge Freida McFadden fan and devour each of her books as they come out now... but there were books out before I discovered her and this was one of them. I have read about 99% of her books now but missed this one and I am so glad I ordered this to catch up. It was a great story! Loved every thrill and twist and turn that Freida is know for giving us. I could not put it down and it did not disappoint. Can't wait for the next one!

The Coworker by Freida McFadden ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars I read this book in ONE DAY! 😳📖 I really enjoyed that this book followed someone who was neurodivergent and absolutely LOVED TURTLES! 🐢💚 This book was action-packed, especially toward the end! There were definitely moments that had me wanting to keep reading to see what would happen next. It’s not my favorite Freida McFadden book, but it was still a pretty good read nonetheless! 🐢📚

The Coworker took me a little longer to get through than some of Freida McFadden's other books. The pacing was slower, and it took time for the story to build momentum. However, once the pieces started coming together, I found myself increasingly invested in what was really going on. As always, Freida does a great job making you question what you think you know. Just when I felt confident I had things figured out, the story took a turn I wasn't expecting. The ending surprised me and completely changed the way I looked at several of the characters and events that came before it. While it wasn't my favorite Freida McFadden novel and felt a bit drawn out at times, the unexpected conclusion made the journey worthwhile. If you enjoy psychological thrillers with unreliable characters and twists that keep you guessing, The Coworker is definitely worth the read.

Spoilers Ahead Has anyone seen Send Help? Dawn totally gave me Linda vibes. Freida McFadden takes two complete opposites and throws them into the same office, letting you slowly question who is telling the truth and who is hiding something. Dawn is…odd. She’s incredibly factual, socially awkward, obsessed with turtles, and can only seem to talk about accounting. She doesn’t understand social cues and often comes across as rude without realizing it. My heart honestly broke for her at times. She was never truly loved by her parents, has only one friend (Mia), and has never experienced a real romantic relationship. But at the same time…Dawn stressed me out. She knows how people perceive her, yet she continues making the same mistakes over and over. It’s like being told not to touch a hot stove, touching it anyway, getting burned, and then continuing to stand right beside it. Whether it’s repeatedly asking her cruel mother for advice while sending her money or communicating with coworkers in ways she knows will push them away, she never seems to learn from the consequences. Then there’s Natalie. Beautiful, charming, successful, and the complete opposite of Dawn. She has the loving (if slightly overbearing) family, friends like Kim, a boyfriend, Caleb, and a thriving sales career at Vixed under their boss, Seth. On the surface, she seems to have the perfect life. Except…Natalie has secrets. A lot of them. She’s manipulative, lies with ease, cheats on her partners, sleeps with her boss, bullies people, and often seems to care only about herself. As more of her past is revealed, it explains why she seems to be unraveling from the very beginning of the story. When Dawn—someone who never breaks routine and is obsessively punctual—doesn’t show up for work one morning, alarm bells begin ringing. Oddly enough, Natalie is the only one who seems truly concerned. As strange clues continue appearing, Natalie suddenly finds herself looking more and more like a suspect, while nothing quite adds up. Is Dawn the victim? Is Natalie being framed? Or is someone else pulling all the strings? The supporting characters kept me guessing too. Seth seemed like a decent boss, but he clearly had much more patience and grace for Natalie than Dawn. Was that because Natalie was genuinely a stronger employee…or because his feelings clouded his judgment? Or was Dawn simply exhausting to work with? Caleb always felt strangely distant and suspicious. Kim was a fun work friend, even if she could be a little self-absorbed. And Mia…she barely appears, barely speaks about herself, and honestly had me wondering if she was even real. Unfortunately, some of the twists felt a little too predictable. It was obvious early on that someone was being set up, and I found myself guessing where the story was headed long before the reveal. The repetitive wording and recurring situations also made parts of the story drag. The final twist was meant to be shocking, but it didn’t hit as hard as I’d hoped. Compared to Freida McFadden’s stronger thrillers, this one just didn’t have that jaw-dropping ending I’ve come to expect. Overall, this wasn’t a bad book by any means, I still flew through it because Freida knows how to write addictive, fast-paced chapters; but it’s definitely one of her weaker books for me.

What a mind-blowing fast paced mystery thriller. A page turner for sure I was glued till the very end. Very well written easy to follow has some amazing twists. Few of them u can anticipate but few really are unpredictable. Loved the read one of the finest i read by far by Frieda McFadden cant wait to discover more of her work.

英語初心者の自分でも引き込まれて、いつものどんどん読んでしまえるフリーダ・マクファデンのミステリー。今回も引き込まれて、寝るのも忘れて読み進んでしまいました。 強く生きるとは？特に女性が強く生きるとは？ まずは一見、美しく人好きがするけれども、実は周りに柔軟に対応しながら、したたかに利害を常に計算して生きているナタリーと、個性的と言われてしまい、地道に自分に忠実に生きざるを得ない、愛し方も一途なドーンの、生まれ持った身体的・精神的な資質の違いは、どちらが正しくてどちらが間違っているのかという問題でもなく、両者とも素直に、精一杯自分を生きていることは間違いない。 私は両者とも愛すべき人間、愛すべき自分の一部の様に感じました。 一見弱い立場のものは実は社会的には強く、全てを持っている様に見える人間は注目を集めるけれども、それだけに批判も受けやすい。その事を知っているからこそ、策略を使って生き延びるナタリーは、実はドーンに劣らず健気な女性とも言えるかも。 そしてこの作品を読んでしまった後、果たして自分は強く生きたいのかどうか…？と、今後折りに触れ、幸せとは何かという選択を間違えない様 、一度立ち止まってしまう思考回路ができてしまいそうです。 そしてそう考えてしまう自分は、資本主義の影響を受けているのか、この物語はアメリカの縮図なのか？ 今後の作品にも期待します！
