Beautiful
Nice simple and bit flimsy flowerpots. I sent back because I didn't want to deal with the potential of algae.

Nice looking self-watering pots
Several plants we bought from a local garden store recently came in self-watering pots and these proved to be useful in keeping our indoor garden alive, so we were looking for more. We found these on Amazon, a bit different from the others but actually nicer looking, so we got them to try out. The larger pot is now holding a ZZ plant and lives in our living room planter with the two other houseplants, the other four pots, two small and two medium, are on our porch now with herb seedlings growing in them. The plan is to bring them inside in October to supply us with mint, parsley, etc. through the winter. We find it easiest to water from the top with the excess leaking into the base to wick up for the rest of the week or so. To date, all the plants are surviving and doing well, none have dried out, and we’re happy with the results.

Nice Look but Has Some Problems
These are attractive planters but not easy to work with. In the first picture, you see what happens when you water your plant with the reservoir on. You get a mess of brown, muddy water because the holes in the bottom of the pot are HUGE. When potting, the soil just falls right through. On my second try, I put straw and stones in the bottom first and that did a good job keeping the soil in the pot. The third picture shows what happens when you pot your plants, and water them, separate from the reservoir. A nice, clean look. After reading comments about the wicks growing moldy, I've decided to remove the wicks and use the reservoirs simply for elevating and draining the pot. I'll still water by hand. Every plant's needs are different, so I don't really trust the whole self-watering thing anyway. With these cautions in mind, these can be a very attractive addition to your plant collection.

Less Stress, More Work
The lack of a star isn't because the items themselves are problematic, its just that self-watering planters in the long term aren't the most ideal set up for gardeners. At least ones with ADHD.The pots themselves are great, and very sturdy. I use the drainage pools exclusively for the drainage versus letting the plants water themselves, but because the bottoms are clear, you can see exactly how much has drained out to see whether or not you should test adding more water in.I'd highly advise folks to continue watering plants themselves after researching how much your plants specifically need. While I thought self-watering planters would make my work easier, it winds up stressing the plants more. Once you have roots established that can reach down into the pools, they're great, but that also is an indication that you should give the plant a bigger pot as it may be strangling its own roots. But a lot of places also don't tell you the wicks themselves need to be swapped out at least bi-weekly, otherwise they begin to mold (I've tried multiple different fabrics and items with the same results) and you'll have a bigger problem on your hands.

large holes in bottom, thin and lightweight
I have all of my plants in pon and like using these type of waterers. These arrived simply boxed and were undamaged. The plastic is thin but sturdy so the pot itself is lightweight. Unlike all other pots of this design, the bottoms don't click in. I rather like that as it is easy to clean the bottom out, but it is a bit of a pain if I try to move a pot and forget to hold it securely at the bottom. My main gripe is that the holes in the bottom are so large. Since I used small pon a good amount falls straight through. They would work great with leca or larger pon.

Comes in different sizes
I got these for indoor planting. I was disappointed in the clear watering part of the pots. I would have like it to have a snap in place factor that didn’t allow for it to easily detach. Other than that it came with multiple watering string. The pot itself was durable and I love the color.

Very Nice Assorted Planters
Very nice assorted sized planters. They are very easy to assemble and the bottom of the planter stays in place. The self watering-- means... there is a rope placed in the bottom of the planter. The bottom of the planter is filled with water-- and the rope helps the water travel up to the dirt-- causing the dirt to stay moist. Even though this works well--- I always find my plants do so much better if the they are misted and a couple times during the month-- I water the plants from the top-- this helps move the nutrients around and ensures the water is getting to all parts of the plant!Very nice product!
