I felt this was a good toolbox replacement lock at a very good price, was easy to install and works smoothly. I would recommend this to a friend.

With any universal lock set like this, you'll need to make modifications. Definitely fit the lock hole as it should. I do like the unique key set. The hook supplied could very well been modified to fit the application but had original components that made the install a little easier. I bought this lock to fit into a Blue Point roll around box. Definitely filled the need and the pricing was spot on..

Turned out I could not use in my application, would not fit in the space available. Wanted to use in another application but needed another nut. I have not been to several hardware stores and can not find one which will fit the threads on the back of unit. So don't lose the nut! This could be true for all these types of lock, not sure. Unit it self appears to be good quality, would give 5 stars if I could find replacement nuts.

Fit perfectly on my U.S. General roll carts just make sure to keep the U.S. general hook part because these are 2 short to reach the locking tab.

For a $4.50 lock assembly this thing is really solid. I used this to retrofit the lock mechanism on my SportRack Aero XL roof cargo box. The oem lock was broken when I got the box and I quickly learned that factory support was non existent. I was able to insert this cylinder through the existing opening in the box and secure it. If you are using this in a plastic box I recommend drilling some small pockets into the plastic to allow the locking ring to bite into the material below the surface to avoid twisting when you tighten the ring. I was also able to augment the teeth on the locking ring by cutting and bending two more out of the center section. Finally, when tightening the nylok nut, go till gently snug then stop. I thought it wasn’t tightened all the way and ended up pulling the threads off one of my locks. See the photo for reference. Otherwise this is solid and great value! Exactly what I needed to keep my box shut and increase its resistance to crackhead snooping in its contents.
