It was rather easy to mix, fill, and level out. I used it before doing my rock solid garage concrete flooring, and it did a great job filling cracks. I would recommend picking up some quikrete concrete repair and filling large holes or cracks first, once they cure, grind them smooth, and then go over the top of them with this. This rustoleum crack filler was great for sealing in the quickrete, and filling in cracks. It sanded down nicely and easily to get rid of the raised edge from application. I used a soft applicator, an old auto body filler type one to mix, and apply. That worked well for scraping most access off and also being flexible around areas that weren’t exactly level. After sanding this product down, and applying the rock solid polycuramine floor coat, I couldn’t see this product through it. In reviews, and videos that you can, I think they either didn’t sand it or maybe didn’t apply the floor coat thick enough. I used the light gray floor coat kit, this stuff applies gray, so could also be part of why you can’t see it. Overall I am very satisfied. I have plenty left over also so I can help friends with their garages now that they have seen how mine turned out. I recommend only mixing a little at a time. If you run out you can just simply mix more. I used 1 popsicle sticks per container to grab it out and the soft applicator to mix and finally apply it. I wouldn’t recommend using a hard putty knife and grabbing some out of one can, and dipping into the next with a dirty knife and mixing it like that. I saw that on several videos. When you go back to use it in the future I’d imagine there will be rocks or something of activated material mixed in. The packaging says this can also be used to help anchor in screws into masonry, so I will be saving this as a future tool/ trick to help get a job done. Any movement in the control joint will crack the filler and/or the finish. I would install the epoxy finish then fill the control joint cuts with a flexible caulk. **Q: You suggested not to use this on a wall but the item is called “wall surface repair” so can you explain.** A: I purchase the concrete surface repair kit. If its concrete you can use this product. Do not use this on drywall. This product is designed specifically for concrete crack repair. **Q: How much (quantity) does this make (volume, I.e. quart/gallon etc)?** A: I would say around a quart **Q: Instead of painting, can a dye be added to it while mixing?** A: For the amount of pre work need for this product to work and cure property, I wouldn't mess with additional mixtures. First let me say that I am Not a professional contractor. I am just your everyday handyman and so over the decades I have used a few products that would promise you the world but this is one of the few times that the products has exceeded the marketing department. Hats off to,those brilliant engineers that are responsible for creating this product. In fact I personally think that Rust-Oleum should at least triple the pay of all of those very intelligent men and women that worked on developing this. I used it for some crack repairs but a lot of it and I used 5. - 24 oz batches of it to put a skim coat on some existing painted concrete the was in doors. The deepest repair I had was no more than 1/4 inch deep and within 4 to 6 hours it was very hard and and after 24 hours it was hard as a rock. I decided to sand it a little bit so the floor paint that I put over it had a little something to hold on to and now it is still looking great.
