It’s Hayden Fox’s turn and let me tell you, he’s been not-so-patiently waiting.When he first showed up in Midnight Confessions, I loved to hate him a bit. And I wanted to see him fall on his butt in love in Midnight Obsession just as much as I wanted to see his brother Aleck do it in Midnight Confessions. Apparently reading about arrogant “love is dumb” dudes is one of my favorite past times.Who knew? 🤷🏼‍♀️Hayden has a hidden dark history, and in his eyes a dark heart and soul. Most people see him as a straight up jerk. But Pippa sees something else in him. Something lighter.Pippa is a people pleaser who almost never stands up for herself. Most people see her as a good and sweet girl. But Hayden sees something else in her. Something darker.Hayden and Pippa grew up together, though he’s a few years older than her. She’s had a crush on him forever. And she’s been his light since they were kids. But he’s never really known how to deal with that or express it, and it’s always come out looking like hatred.They haven’t seen each other for five years. When Pippa moves back home, she starts working at her father’s law firm, even though she’s been working in fashion, to please her parents. Being Hayden’s assistant puts her back in his line of fire.They have history. They have unfinished business. They have secrets. They have feelings. They have angst.So much angst!The character growth is great all around. We get more of Aleck and Winter (yah!!!), and Aleck and Hayden. The relationship between the brothers is kind of special to watch evolve. I love that they’re alike in a lot of ways even though they aren’t blood related. We also get some Winter and Pippa ❤️Hayden and Pippa have some very deep feelings for each other and don’t always know what they really mean. There’s a lot they need to work out, and it’s not always pretty. But it’s something beautiful.Check triggers.I received this book for my honest review.

The books can be read as standalone romances.Pippa Latham is a good girl. She’s complied with every desire her parents have ever had for her. She always does what’s expected of her. Underneath the angelic facade is a burning flame that needs to be set free. Can she break from duty and finally go after what her heart truly desires? She has loved one man her whole life. He would be a very good place to start.Hayden Fox has watched Pippa for almost as long as she has been watching him. She has a pretty image but he aches to expose the spark underneath. He wants to sully his good girl but doesn’t believe he is worthy to have her. So, he watches and protects her from afar.It’s time to break some rules who better to do it with than the object of your obsession?This book was a fantastic read. The building tension between Hayden and Pippa was electric. When they finally gave in to their desires, the page sizzled.The thing I absolutely loved about this book was Pippa herself. She became more confident, more comfortable in her own skin, and she did it on her own terms. Hayden was always there supporting and protecting her, even before she was aware of it, but her growth was a hard won battle that she conquered. Wonderful characters, great plot, and plenty of steam.

Midnight Obsession was so good. I was so excited to read this, because I loved the first book Midnight Confessions. I was hard not to fall in love with Hayden and Pippa. They are both amazing in different ways. Hayden is dark and broody because of his past. Pippa is a shell of her self due to her parents and how she was raised. I loved how we got to see both the past and the present with both of the characters. It painted a really good picture of how things started and how we got to where we are now. Hayden has come a long way if you ask me from when we first met him in Midnight Confessions. I couldn’t believe that he was getting is own book. He such a jerk and I was like there is no way he’s going to get a happy ending. Hayden and Pippa both have some secrets from their past and they way they play  a part in this story is amazing. The spice was okay. I thought that given what a jerk Hayden was we would see more of that from in the spicy scenes. I had painted him being a totally Dom but while he was a bit it wasn’t a full blown Dom situation. There was tons of banter and it was amazing of course. This book does have the 3rd act break up in it and we all know how I feel about those. That was the only thing that I did not like about. I would totally recommend this book.

Buckle up because this book takes you on a literal roller-coaster of emotions. It's funny, hot, heartbreaking, and healing all wrapped into one book. Hayden and Pippa were made for each other in so many ways.The triggers in this book aren't any to take lightly. That being said, being able to fully understand the magnitude of what Hayden went through in his adolescence and reflecting on my own personal trauma was something I never knew I needed.What Pippa endures throughout her entire life is so undeniably relatable for so many women. Taking her story and looking at it as a whole puts a new perspective on how we allow others to control our own narrative.J.L. is a one of a kind author. She's authentic and true to her characters. She bleeds her heart and soul into her books, and this masterpiece shows that. I love her work with my whole entire heart.One million times recommend. Read this book!-Hayden's Cupcake

I was lucky enough to receive this book for my honest review. The day I received it, I immediately started reading the first book of the series (Midnight Confessions) and I was hooked! However this book, exceeded my expectations by 100%From the first few chapters I fell in love with learning about Hayden and Pippa’s stories. Through the decades they knew one other they both had gone through so much and the twist and turns in this book make the relationship between the two so much sweeter. This was an emotional roller coaster, especially with Hayden learning how to express himself more but I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to read more of J.L’s books!

I didnt think I would like Hayden especially if you read the book 1 but O.M.G. That man is everything. The entire scenes at the club had me giggling and kicking my feet. The way he loves and support his little obsession. Can’t wait to see what the author releases next
