I enjoyed building this, but there are a lot of tiny screws and some intricate placements. I do not recommend this for beginners or young kids. I really like the way it looks and moves. Great addition to the set of mechanical bugs.

This is an awesome display model (not really a puzzle) that's extremely satisfying to put together. ROKR did a great job in this incredible kit. Here’s what I like and don’t like about this Stag Beetle model :****************************************************LIKES*Detail - this is a beautiful model. It's not exactly a scale replica of a stag beetle but rather a mechanical, steam punk style robo-beetle. I think it looks awesome. Lots of cool little details and accents.*Instructions - the instructions and assembly of this kit are the most thorough and detailed of any model I've ever put together. Each step is illustrated with detailed drawings that include what labeled bags you need for that particular step, proper orientation of the parts, and callouts for specific things to look out for. For the more complicated and involved steps there are even QR codes that take you to a video demonstration. The attention to detail is just awesome.*Tools Included- you get all of the tools you need to assemble the kit, including a nice pair of flush cutters for snipping the plastic pieces off the frames.*Spare Parts- some of the hardware pieces (screws, pins, washers and nuts) are ridiculously tiny and easy to drop/lose. One of my favorite parts about this kit is that they include an extra of almost every piece of hardware. I did drop pieces several times so I can vouch for how easy it is to lose them and how awesome it is that bonus hardware is included.*Motion- the model has some really cool movement details. The thin metal wings flap in a very realistic manner and sound very cool. The jaws also open and close smoothly and add to the awesome look of the completed model.*Base - the base takes AAA batteries and has a touch-activated button. The completed model can be removed from the base but it gets its movement power from the base so it won't move when removed. It's a beautiful display piece.*Support - I can definitely attest to the incredible customer service. When I unboxed the model I was missing one of the tools. I contacted the manufacturer using the included support email and got an almost immediate response from customer service. They apologized and sent the missing tool right away.* Value - this is a beautiful model that is a delight to assemble. For $59.99 (at the time of this review) I think this is a great deal and will definitely be looking to purchase more of these models.****************************************************DISLIKES* None!****************************************************Overall I couldn't be happier with this model and would absolutely recommend it.

The media could not be loaded.  This is the fourth model I got from this company. Very cool but I have a bad building experience with this one. I have to request a replacement after I finish it because the head and the boday doesn't matched which when I put them together, the pliers and wings will get stuck. So I have to start over again 😭The replacement works fine. For this one. You need lots of lubricant on the gears, otherwise it will get stuck very easily.Also, some parts are not perfectly close when putting together. And when you try to polished the colored parts, you might wipe out the color🤧 which is horrible experience (I have to repaint it just for it to look ok)Overall the product is cool.

The designers of this model have done an amazing job at packing such a fun project and high quality kit into a small package and cost. The build took me about 2 hours to complete and the instructions AND linked instructional videos were amazing at guiding me to the end. I will say I have some experience working with small electronics and assembling small components such as when I build keyboards, so this gives me some advantage compared to beginners. The kit includes pretty much everything you need but I would highly recommend nippers to cut the plastic parts out of the injection molded trays and fine tweezers to pick the incredibly small screws and washers up. Other than that the kit includes everything you need with meticulous instructions and labelling on everything. The picture guides are phenomenal, on par with Lego and it is as if somebody is guiding you through the build process next to you. The finished result is fun and makes a great piece. I recommend this to anybody looking to get into 3d construction kits or small electronics. Its a great intro to gears and simple mechanisms as well.

I wouldn't call this a 3D Puzzle. For that reason, I was kind of disappointed in the product. I admit I probably should have looked at all the pictures and description a bit more.That being said, as a MODEL, this is pretty dang cool. And it MOVES. Seriously, that is insanely neat.There are a lot of small pieces, so be sure to have a nice area where you can work and keep track of pieces so you don't lose anything. And bring a bunch of patience with you.

I loved this puzzle (kit)! I can no longer make the custom World War One airplanes that I used to craft from pictures alone. I cannot make most kits found in hobby shops. However, because this, while not easy for me, was more forgiving if I caught a mistake in time. I could backtrack to some extent, which is not at all the case with kits using glue throughout.It is a truly beautiful model when complete. Because it is made with metal, the finished product looks much more professional, like wood kits do, than most plastic kits. I recommend this for anyone!

The media could not be loaded.  This is the second of this series of steampunk mechanical bugs, and I absolutely love it. It is SO much fun to assemble, and it is a truly beautiful design. This has more moving parts than the other one, including flapping wings, moving pincers, and a spinning stinger. Everything fits absolutely perfectly together, and each element is very intricately and cleverly designed. I cannot recommend this stag beetle enough.
