I’ve bought a couple of extra tubes to do another project Review: A good product but a strange colour - The colour is very light and unlike any mortar I have seen. I made it match by spreading a thin layer crushed stone (or mortar) on the surface and pressing it in. It seems to have worked. It sets very slowly and takes several weeks to fully harden if applied thickly. That was not a problem in my case and, once set, it appears to be really tough. Fire cement is a good option internally but externally i would consider external quick set cement. Bear in mind unless it's a very small repair these tubes can be annoying and don't hold much i prefer tubs **Q: After squirting it into the hole, what type of tool is best to use to level off the surface?** A: We used this product to repoint the brick joint where the mortar was missing and we used a jointing tool to smooth the surface. Overall, a useful product but a shame about the colour. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for small and quick repairs, but use a good gun and a spatula. *by A***O on 13 June 2026* Great stuff, makes those little repairs less tedious and fix them for good. One case could be a hole for wall plug that's been done too large, stuff it with this compound and press the plug again, leave it for at least 36hrs and you have 100% strength. I've also used it to seal cable holes in masonry, the hole stuffed with silicone first, then having the last layer when this compound, a flexible spatula will give you a decent finish. One caveat: use it with a GOOD gun, the cheap ones won't push it out, I've used a 25:1 ratio gun and no problems. Also, don't expect it to stick on a wall as it comes out of the gun, you really need to use a spatula to push it and fill the surface that's going to. Ideally this product should come as a tub, but I suspect that it comes as a cartridge to avoid it drying out.
