Great product, no complaints a year in
This is a really good dash cam. The video quality is excellent both day and night and it has had no issues in the almost year since I've installed it. I'm thoroughly surprised at how well it's held up in the heat, I installed it last fall and was a bit worried that the adhesion might fail in the summer, or that the device may overhead, but I've had no issues with either thus far.Install was pretty straightforward, I got the additional cable so it could be hardwired in, and while I wasn't able to get the always-on passive monitoring to work for me I'm pretty sure that's just due to a lack of understanding on my part and the confusing work of Volkswagen cars. I ended up routing the wires along the top edge of the windscreen, through the front driver side pillar, and down into the power box. The device itself is very small, and easy to hide behind the mirror or another part of the car where it won't obstruct your view, which is ideal in my opinion. The final result in my vehicle was a nearly invisible dash cam with only a couple inches of exposed wires, nothing blocking my view while driving but the whole thing is easy to access if needed.

Solid dash cam!
Deciding on what to buy:I slaved over trying to find a quality dash cam without breaking the bank. Hours of reading reviews, I finally decided to pull the trigger on VIOFO. The Mini 2 seemed the best solution for what I was looking for. Bought a 128GB San Disk Max Endurance (only because there was a reasonable price differenced than the VIOFO equivalent), and the polarizing lens.Installation:Watched several videos on installation, I thought I needed to wire it directly into the fuse box, but after a last minute decision, I decided to use my cigarette lighter adapter (which comes with the dash cam). Recording during parking wasn't a need I had so it made sense. Installing on a 2017 Honda Pilot the lighter plugin was perfectly placed to wrap the wire around the passenger side and directly behind the dash. The cord was easily hidden, behind the dash and behind all the panels, it literally took less than 10 minutes to install. I placed the dash cam directly behind the rear view mirror so it was hidden from normal view. But if I needed to get to the dash cam I could look from below or simply move my mirror slightly to gain access to the cam. Very content with the placement. The only thing that wasn't to my liking was how it stuck to the windshield. After placing as per the installation guide, I looked from the outside and noticed there was a reasonably large bubble in the center of the glue pad. I was able to easily pull it off so I retried to stick it on again. Similar results. However after almost a month of use, I have had no issues with it falling off. Time will tell. They do provide a second glue pad in the kit so if it falls off, I'll probably use the new pad.Daily Use:Most of the settings were great out of the box. I think I increased the resolution a little, didn't max that in fear of issues or exceptionally large files. Also set the wifi to 5.8 (I guess that's equivalent to wifi6?). I turned recording audio off as I didn't see that as a need we had. I think that's all I changed. Every time I start up the car, within a few seconds it makes the start up noise and then proceeds to tell me it is recording. Felt like the start up time was very reasonable. After turning off the car, it makes a shutoff noise. No issues in usage. We did go over some rough patch on the interstate through a construction zone and it indicated it was going to lock the recording. Has only happened through that stretch of road so I didn't reduce the accident sensitivity. Felt like that's a good option.Mobile App:Many reviews of other products indicated poor mobile app quality. I must say that I have found the app to be very stable. To connect your phone to the dash cam, hold down the wifi button and it will enable the wifi. I think recording has to be stopped for that to work. Use your phone to connect and you can now make configuration settings to the cam as well as select videos/images to download. My settings save a file every 3 minutes. And with my higher resolution setting, the video files are around 553MB each. Downloading files seemed very fast, consistent, with no issues. I believe you can watch the videos directly streaming from the cam or when you download them you can watch them from the app even if you are not connected to the cam. So far, no issues. One surprising fact was when playing back a recording in the app, at the bottom of the screen it shows the movement of the car on a map. Thought that was a nice little feature.Quality of the video:I'm very content with the quality of the video. The video is crisp, clear both day and night. No issues.Overall:Installation was fast and easy. Daily usage I've had zero issues. Mobile app is easy to use and have no issues. A great buy! Definitely recommend the the Mini 2. Will be buying more for the rest of my families cars.

Viofo Dashcam
The A119 Mini 2 is a good little dashcam for the money. It was super easy to install. The power cable was long enough to run to either side of the vehicle. I tried different resolutions to see what looked best to me. It has decent picture quality at night with the HDR turned on. Overall I am happy with it. Everything works great except the video stop command does not work.

good quality dashcam
After extensive “research”, aka reading reviews online on reddit, I decided to finally buy this dashcam. Quality of the camera is amazing, it is a plug and play so it is super easy to install, theres no monthly subscriptions so it’s an overall win. Night recording looks great, so does day. Of course I bought a memory card that was on the not recommended list because i dont read, BUT it works perfectly fine!the only thing that bugs me a little is the app. it sucks and its ugly lol takes forever to connect to your phone and sometimes doesnt even work. it looks so prehistoric like they built it when the internet was first invented and just left it at that. Still functional though.

One of the best dash cams in its category
Overall Impression- The camera has a compact design, which allows easy installation behind the rearview mirror.- Stable windshield mount ensures the camera stays in place when pressing the buttons. Once mounted, only the vertical adjustment of the view is possible. It’s best to use the included static sticker to be able to make horizontal adjustments if needed.- The image is high-quality during day and night. The license plates are readable from short distances. The readability can be improved at night by enabling HDR, but it reduces contrast slightly. The optional polarizing filter enhances contrast and color saturation, even at night, but it can create surreal effects on the sky.- The LCD screen simplifies camera positioning and settings adjustments without the need to connect to a phone. For example, the SD card can be formatted using the buttons.- Recording of the vehicle's location and speed by using in-build GPS is accurate.- The parking mode requires an optional ACC hardware kit because the camera doesn't have an in-build battery.Using the Mobile App- The 5 GHz Wi-Fi enables fast video transfers to a phone, but for bulk file transfers, removing the SD card and connecting it directly to a phone or PC is more efficient.- Wireless Android Auto must be manually disconnected before a Wi-Fi connection to a phone can be established.- The mobile app offers settings adjustments, live camera control, video browsing with previewing the recorded route on a map, and selective downloads to the phone. However, downloaded videos require manual correction of the date of creation because it doesn't align with the actual recording date.
